Well i cba arguing, im too tired of these arguments about him. Im pretty sure an attacking team like Celtic in a * league can afford to have one playermaker not running back to defend.

In preseason he played 3 full games in the space of about 6 days. There is nothing wrong with his fitness. Its all media rubbish.

Sorry if you took that the wrong way, I'm not trying to argue with you at all.

Was just debating a few points you made.

 

I can understand Lenny not wanting to start Paddy in every game if he's not fulfilling his defensive duties and no matter what anyone might think about McGeady, he put in a * of a shift for the team in the vast majority of his appearances. I have to say though, how can anyone possibly justify leaving McCourt on the bench when he's consistently producing game-changing pieces of magic. In my opinion this kind of talent must be accomodated, we have enough grafters!

 

At the game today, first time in a long while, never saw Paddy do the business like that in the flesh til now.

There's something about it that doesn't quite carry over when you're watching it on telly, the way he dragged the ball past those defenders was so casual he might as well have been having a kick about down the park, he doesn't even do them for pace or anything, just strolls past, makes it look completely effortless, it's unreal.

Have watched Paddy for years with Derry. He does not have a stamina problem, its just not him to track back. He depends on the defenders to defend. In fairness he is in alot better shape now than he was with Derry. Also I think he should stick 2 fingers up at Nigel Worthless who is picking part time irish league players in front of him, and retire from international football. Pity he cant change to the Republic given the fact ( in my eyes) the reason he is not being selected is political. Hail hail Paddy!

cant be left out,,so * if he dosnt defend although i saw him make tackels,even if he los t the ball a couple of times,he is matchwinner and what kids should study,amazonly gifted talent not to be wasted or taking for granted,left wing or behind the strikers,,,,,magic m

 

He should be played up as a striker but doing what sammy does and come deep for the ball or out to the left and pick it up. What a lot of people dont seem to mention is how composed he is in front of goal, he very rarely misses the target when in good positions, his finishing is up there with any striker we have.

He should be fitted into the team no matter what and should not be expected to come back. PLayed as a second striker and he would do damage in every game, has such an eye for a pass too.

If he was playing regurarly and performing the way he does when he comes off the bench his value would rocket !!

However I think he will always be used a an impact sub which is a shame, yet the most effective impact sub I have ever seen anywhere in the world

 

Unreal player probably my favourite player for Celtic atm

 

He was born in the wrong decade.

 

Mccourt can play behing the strikers, like moravcik did, a free role if you like. He is better than maloney and forrest imo and in a midfield of kayal juarez and ledley playing box to box would be ideal, the man beats players for fun has immence vision and can score goals.

Very interesting way to look at it.

Think there's a lot of truth in the observation too. If he had been around in the 70s he'd likely have been a Celtic legend.

 

No doubt, we are in an age were its all about fitness, strength and power, Paddy is of an age of skill, entertainment and skill again He just has a look of a 70's footballer.

 

it really isnt fair on the rest of the players in the spl paddys gonna win goal of the month every month, cant wait till his best goals dvd comes out id definitly get it
