A survey of which club has the most supporters and Barcelona came top with 57 million, up 13.7 million since there success in 2009. Glory Hunters seem to be everywhere.

have to admit im surprised that neither of the Old Firm feature, especially when a team like Kiev are there, never thought they were particularly well supported through Europe like that.

 

It is impossible to tell how many genuine fans that each club actually has.

These kind of surveys probably include the average Nigerian kid with a Man Utd or Barcelona top. If you are talking about genuine fans who have an interest in a team and take time out of their own lives to try and catch as many games as possible, then Celtic are definetely up there with the best of them.

Suprised Benfica aren't there, I thought half the people from Portugal supported them and they have the most fans with paid memberships or something.

The "Football Top 20" study analyses the popularity of domestic and international top football clubs in 17 European countries (Germany, France, UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Poland, Croatia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Russia). Over 10,200 football fans aged 16 – 69 years were interviewewd for the third edition of the report.

Should have looked at this before posting the thread, lot of * by the looks of it.

 

Zenit are more supported then Roma and Galatasaray. Aye right

 

so basically a certain percentage of 10,200 people has been used to create this list? Seems mince then.

I think the article talks about quantity, not quality....

I agree with you, as well it is pretty obvious that being Barça the winner of everything lately they are trendy, when they stop being, they will reduce their count dramatically.... for sure...

 

I find it rather suprising Arsenal and Chelsea have more fans than Liverpool. That is if this list is accurate.

 

I doubt they have mate, especially Chelsea. Sure a lot of people may have started supporting them after Abramovich went there. Once Chelsea start struggling, watch all the glory hunters move onto another club -Man City maybe? Man Utd and Liverpool are still the biggest 2 clubs in England imo considering history etc.

 

How do you measure such a fan rate. And what is a fan? Somebody who says yeh i like em but that is not a supporter. Think it's a load of bull.
