Right, in my thread for fans of Italian footy there was quite the difference of opinion between some of us :icon_mrgreen: So I thought I'd start a new thread where we debate a topic in football (without getting agressive I will add) just for abit of fun for a period of time before moving on to somehing else? Just for laughs and might be interesting guys. So, the topic that was in the other thread first of all...
What is the better league? Serie A or La Liga?
Serie A gets my vote for the reasons in the other thread and I'll go into more detail later if needs be. :50:

La Liga is by far a better league, lots of goals and great players.Serie A is boring for me,some good players in that league but alot of teams play anti-football rangers style, very defensive, not many goals scored and overall less entertaining.

    Serie A in the 90's
    La Liga just now

Serie A hasn't got the same amount of top players as it once had. Zidane, Savicevic, Baggio,Del Piero, Mancini,Thuram, Zola, Baresi, Signori, Cafu, Fonseca, Boban, Batistuta and Rui Costa to name just some of the star players that made that league great.

Used to love Seria A years ago but now I'd definitely say La Liga, I don't support a team in either league (although I do check the results of a few teams) therefore it's all about the entertainment and for me La Liga is much more entertaining.

For me the Bundesliga crushes them both.

Beautiful stadiums, nice football, exiting football, motivated players (Vollgasverantstaltung), standing sections in the stadiums, great atmosphere and loyal fans.

I agree, footbal wise i think the bundesliga is the best in the world, La Liga is the best technical league in the world i'd say aswell, dont rate serie A at all these days, its not very good at all. The philosophy has always been defend but even now there defence isnt at a high standard

to be fair, its like £7 to watch Bayern Munich man

i say Roma and Inter are different in the attacking sense, to most of Italy.

I miss that guy. Batigol was my idol as a wee yin watching Saturday morning Serie A. What an outstanding player he was.

Agree - the Bundesliga is quality.

la liga has overtook serie a in recent years imo, purely down to the quality of players that barca and real have attracted!
saying that its quite harsh to say la liga is superior due to financial reasons but its just my opinion.

La Liga. So much more quality and I'd say that the 5 best players in the world play in that league (Messi, Villa, Ronaldo, Xavi + Iniesta) aswell as the best team (Barcelona).

    Quality or entertainment ?

i see 2 teams going for la liga title, yet serie a could have potentially, a title race involving 4 teams or more

Find that very interesting that some people say the Bundesliga is the best in the world :50: for me the EPL is the most overrated and always preferred the Bundesliga over that. But it is the 3rd best for me behind Serie A and La Liga. the quality has certainly risen lately domestically as shown by Bayern last year and Germany at the WC, certainly unpredictable but for me the quality of player on show in Italy even in teams like Cesena, Lecce, Bari and Lazio is better than that of weaker sides in Spain and Germany.
Do love the Bundesliga's unpredictability though. Seriously any team from 5 could win it, anyone could probably got Europe and a fair few could go down. Excitment everywhere. Serie A still has my vote though. Milan, Roma and Genoa big time have all strengthened this summer and even if your not mad on the league I'd urge you to check out at least a few games. Really it's not as negative and bad as some people have the idea of it being :50:

Exactly mate :50: Serie A has the edge over Spain in that department. Spain does have teams like Barcelona though who do put on such a show as well as Atletico Madrid who I actually love to watch more than any other side. Id love them (or anyone tbh) to mount a decent challenge to the 2 big boys but nobody has the strength in depth or consistency to do it imo.

I think EPL is the best though. As a package of every aspect.

    :50: ^

i enjoy any positive football games :50:

And perhaps that's why the Bundesliga is better than both.

Still, more clubs going for the title doesn't have to mean that the league is more exciting.
EPL has more clubs who can aim at the title spot, has better football and bigger stadiums...but I still prefer the SPL. I can't rationally explain why that is, it's a feeling.

Maybe so, but going on your 'feelings' point, i can't grow to like the Bundesliga for some reasons. I know it is clearly good, but i don't think i could sit and watch unless it was a derby game or something. I dont like that it only have 18 teams as well.

Still think the Premier League is the best though. Just my feeling. A whole combination of every aspect, football, fans, goals, drama, managers, crack, humour.... everything.

Well, we can't have a real argument on this one, mate. Anyone has a right on their own opinion and since our opinions in this discussion are based on feelings neither one of us is wrong.
You prefer the English Premier League and I prefer the Bundesliga.:icon_mrgreen:

Perhaps our feelings have to do with distance to the teams. I am guessing you live quite nearby some cities that hold EPL clubs. And I live near the German border, very close to some great Bundesliga clubs.

Maybe we should start a topic: 'EPL or Bundesliga.' :56:
