For years I have watched the EPL and never really supported a club, but now I will. With MON and Stan, Villa are my club. Good Luck Boys.

Petrov for Graveson and VoH? That's a good trade

    Petrov Leaves Celtic

    Petrov Leaves Celtic
MIDFIELDER Stilian Petrov has been re-united with former manager Martin O'Neill today after signing a four-year deal with Aston Villa.

He joins the Birmingham club after they became favourites to land his signature once O'Neill became their manager.

Fulham and Everton had both been mentioned as admirers of the Bulgarian captain but Portsmouth were among the front runners until Aston Villa joined the chase.

Stan joined Celtic when John Barnes was the manager and in the ensuing seven years scored 64 goals in 268 matches.

Celtic Football Club wish Stilian al the best for his future in the game down south.

Stan Petrov served Celtic with Distinction. According to him, he signed the new deal so Celtic could get the best price for him. He said that he liked playing for Celtic, even though he had handed in a transfer request which Celtic openly refused. He hasnt fallen out with any player, manager, coach etc. He just wanted to try something else after 7 years of total commitment to Celtic.

It may have been a long and messy transfer but he has played well and wore the jersey with absolute pride between then and now. Celtic werent prepared to loose their best player quickly or cheaply. I hope that this whole saga doesnt taint anyones memory of what Stan Petrov did for Celtic because it shouldn't.

I hope Petrov shows the EPL what it takes to be the best in Scotland for as long as he has. Hail Hail!

WHO CARES??? For a player we bought seven years ago for, what, £1m or something, thats a terrific bit of business! with the transfers we've had in this summer and even some, not all, of last summer, lawwell has done magnificently. great piece of business for celtic, covers the signing costs we've made this summer, and will hopefully help reduce our debt.

I think Lawell was just saying that to drive a better price out of buyers.

Good luck to Stan, he served us well for seven years and we got a good price for him when he left.MON was just too hard to resist for the bhoy, you can guarantee that he knew he was coming back into football and this was probably what swayed him to leave our club.C'mon the hoops £6.5m to spend and new hungry players at the club, things are looking good.

    no more transfer kitty

there is no chance that the petrov money will be spent on transfers. but the fact that we are selling him has allowed the arrival of voh and gravesen so bring on the champions league. an away draw in manchester wae gravesen showing the over-rated michael carrick how to run the midfield

To get £6.5m raising to £8m on appearnaces is brilliant business.

And I can remember Lawell getting slaughtered on here for not taking the £5m bid a while ago.

Its likely that Celtic wont spend big again this window. They said 3 players and they got 3 players, JVOH, Naylor & Gravesen. I think Scott Brown was plan B for Gravesen. They'll still be watching the market for a steal though
