and he was a free aswell(not saying its a bad thing but he was not very good in holland) only the left back we spent some money on, lennon said from day one he needed to get in new players at the back, he has not been slow in spending money to fillo the other spots in the team

we have been pish at the back for 2 seasons, for me it would make sence to spend some big money at the back like he has done in the middle and up front

just think lennon could have done somthing about this before now he was quick enough to offer sol campbell 35k a week on a 2 year deal, he has wasted some time on it and i pray to * that he will get an other CB cause we need it

does anyone have a list of the excact ins/outs and fees i think we must be about 10million up mcmanus, boruc, mcgeady, fortune, sheridan, caddis, ferry all sold plus naylor (released) rassmusen (loan)odea(loan) thomson(loan)mcgowan(loan) i reckon thats 17-18 million comining in transfer fees plus wages saved on the rest thats just off the top of my head, 12 players out (more if you count keane kamara braffheid) and 11 in probably on much lower wages,im not complaining about players we have signed but it's certainly been a profitable transfer window for celtic plc

The reality is we have done some good wheeling and dealing for our club bringing new players in ( not loan signings like before) and any leftover after the window shuts has to help our club with the fact we have lost so much revenue the last couple of years both with going out of Europe early and falling gates. I for one dont want to go down the route of the dark side. Would love a CB and Keano but if not fair enough

You should maybe take the green tinted specs off. Our defence is still 2 players short of being decent. Cha ain't good enough if he can't defend a cross bybnow he won't learn
    ever.
    Jos and glenda ain't
good enough. We should spend themoney
we have on players who have proven quality instead of a bunch of guys who may or may not be good enough. Rangers may have weakened their squad but their 1st choic 11 is probably stronger than it was. I would say that it isn't me who needs to get * real we still need to improve a lot. There is money to spend it is a * disgrace not to spend it on players who will improve the squad

Did you see the Ross County and St. Mirren games at the end of of last season with that "superior" squad. Those were darker days than the Utrecht game

Yet again, we don't spend a penny of the board's own money. :54:

im happy wiht our dealing this window tbh we have filled in all our problem areas, and for the most part at least it looks like we have improved as a result. with the exception of mulgrew im happy. and to be fair can you totally blame the board for not risking a big omney move on a manager that they are skeptical about? i think you forget that there is always january if we do need to strengthen, but im happy as we are

11 in so cant complain but lennon did say that he wanted another 2 or 3 in and he did say that the mcgeady money was there to spend and it looks like both those statements are lies so i can complain about that

I totally agree with your opinion on McGeady but why should we be down a decent player when we havent used any of the money?

We've made some good signings, but it's pretty telling up front when we're distraught over a Gary Hooper injury.

I wanted another centre half too of considerable quality but much like the bullard, bellamy, james (thank *), campbell ( still not fit to play) and whoever else big name wise.
There would be no point in signing a defender for the sake of it, plus just because we made a profit on fees doesnt mean we just splash the money on anybody celtic are not in a position to do that the likes of wilson from forrest who people dont seem to rate can be bosman signed in january, I think the goalie from newcastle will be a one season thing and kieron westwood will be signed on bosman in january as well. More good business getting players for free who have a potential sell on value.
I think lennon has done well in the market and when you sign 11 players off course some are not going to be a success.

Think we've had a decent window all in all.

It's now time to get the new guys to gel and make an assault on the title. Looks like there will definitely be money available in January due to not spending much of the McGeady money. So if we need to bring in another goalkeeper/centre half/striker or whatever then we can.

I think our current squad is a lot stronger than what it was a year ago.

The team is defo in a better position now and much more promising.

Cant hide the fact that im really disappointed though, especially with Lennon saying he would be able to spend all the money for aidan? And also with the fact that one of our main problem areas, the defence, has only had 600k spent on it!

thing is tho he has had alot of time to get people in but wasted alot of his own time with them players you have said bullard ect, and we have only spent 560k on our back line the rest are free

instead of penny pinching, lennon has done at the back, cha is 29-30, will not have a big re-sale value if any big danny he has no re-sale value mulgrew well he need to pull his finger out or again no re-sale value only player was the left back he looked good at the weekend and hope we will have some re-sale value witch i think we will

now you can see why some people have being asking why so little has been spent at the back when it's been a big problem

i agree with westwood i would tell that * bothwank to go * himself after the haggis pish and we can get him for * all next summer

but i thought and so have some other people in different thread about us getting in a better CB to play with big danny, now the window is closed we have to use what we got and i hope they come good hooiveld and rogne gets fit, and when rogne is fit i would not let loovens get near that first team ever again
