Didn't see the game due to being away from home where i only had mobile broadband available, was gutted to miss it. But haven't enjoyed the fall-out from this game. To be honest, the biggest negatives are losing the league and losing to a team that loves rankers.

Hard to take you say, well no really had we got 4 penalties it would have been a draw, then if we got beaten in extra time, then at least we got to cheer the team on!
Yes through thick and thin, I was thinking reading your wonderful post and support for the club, that even if its nearly always thin these past few years well at least we can tell people we are Celtic through and through!
And besides Rangers needs the money so its ok to get gubbed now and again, and let them get the European money! :47:

Give them some credit * sake. They were as good as much as we were * thus the 4 goal deficit. Can't see them winning the Europa obviously but they showed they can play a bit and would give any team in the SPL a spanking on that form.

That was right up there with our all time worst ever performances. There is no way to say anything else. Humiliation pure and simple. I knew Utrecht were a decent side but there was no excuse for last night's shambolic display. The players and Coaching staff should be ashamed of what happened. They were a disgrace.

I have supported Celtic all my life and when you hit a low as bad as last night it brings it home just how much I love the club and everything it stands for and how much the team means to me. I will be watching come Sunday giving the team my full backing against Motherwell. It will be interesting to see how the team and Lennon react to Thursdays fiasco.

It says a lot about the SPL how easily the scottish teams were dumped out of Europe on Thursday. No excuses, we had a 2-0 lead in the tie. That drubbing has not sunk in yet and it's gonna hurt for quite a while. Different team, different manager, the only thing that stays the same is the Scottish league and the way it is set up and run. I'm not saying that this as any excuse but somebody needs to take a long hard look at the general setup.

    Rant continued...

I did some research on WiKi on Utrecht. They are a tough club and have managed to win some trophies in a tough league against the likes of PSV. I think Lenny was right in his post match interview cause he had warned the players that Utrecht would come at them full on. But they still rushed into challenges and got knocked off the ball. Hopefully he can toughen them up a bit for the domestic stuff, especially against the manky mob. I'm still positive.

i don't go for the money argument myself. Look at Wigan v Chelsea last week.

Thanks for the great time lads, you really are one of the best supportergroup I've ever seen!

Sorry for the big defeat, although we warned you that we are no pub team, at home we almost always are very strong and hard to beat.

We have little chance getting past the group phase with Liverpool, Napoli and Steau but we will try to get our points and do everything for this, we don't wanna go out with no point and no goals, that would be terrible!

I hope the Celts will be champion this season in the Scottisch League and we'll see you again next season in the Champions League this time!

Just keep on supporting your team like this, you have some players that have huge potential and I'm sure if this gets developed you will have some topplayers in your team eventually!

PS: I've heard you sold Marc-Antoine Fortune, whats your view on this, and how much money did you get?

Good luck this season lads and cheers! :50:

Very nice post mate ,and all the best in the Champs ,dont fear Liverpool to much ,there not the team that they were and if i was to choose a League to go into that would have been the one ,your home form is 2nd to none so your team could do lot of damage to the others at your home ground ,but you might need a draw from somewhere away ,Napoli arent the best either but Steau could be a tough one .

Fortune was sold to West Brom for 2.5 million ,a loss of 1.3 million ,

All the best to your team .:50:

We fear Liverpool because we know what they used to be, everybody knows their starplayers like Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres but they have more, players that played in our league(like Thomas Vermaelen) and in our team (Dirk Kuijt) but they have more players of name I don't wanna sum everyone up but our team doesn't have a chance if they play like they always do, we just hope they underrestimate us and we'll have a tie against them.

I don't know enough about Napoli, I don't follow the Italian competition like I follow the English one, as for Steau, our LB Mihai Nesu played there, he told in the media they have a pretty decent team, but to be honest, I don't know any player of them :86:

@me.CelticBhoy88: Thanks for the compliments, and good luck for the Celts! :50:

@mickcfc91: So what's your view on Ricky van Wolfswinkel after the 2nd leg? :86:

I rated him quite highly before the first leg, then was disapointed. Obviously on Thursday he impressed.

I think he'll have to move away from the Dutch league to develop though. Too many players play into there mid 20s and get stale and then fail to make the transition to other European football.

He's not ready for going abroad yet, he's 21 years old now, but he needs to develop some more, needs to get a lot stronger because playing in any other country higher as Holland will need more skills to score goals in this competions and he's aware of that, we all know that if he gets to good for our club or Holland he will be sold, thats the price you'll have to pay for having good results I guess :86:

There were some rumours, they talked about £8m in this message:
Liverpool prepare bid for £8m Dutch international - Liverpool FC
    (The comments are hilarious btw!)
We don't know if this is the truth, but if he leaves he would go for the highest price, we bought him from Vitesse Arnhem for € 2.8 million euros, and this is his second year at FC Utrecht.
