I reckon keane could play the role Maloney is playing the now, in behind the striker. Seen him do this alot for ireland. Same role i reckon bellamy would have been given.

Keane won't come back, like Roy, Robbie has fulfilled his ambition to play for the Hoops, kiss the badge & then move on at the first opportunity.
Loved both of them in the Hoops, but under no illusions that their hearts were never really at the club, both could have prolonged their stay in the Hoops easily & given even more service to the club.

Roy retired because of injury or he would have played longer and we can't afford Robbie's transfer fee and even if we could, maybe lennon doesn't want to spend most of his budget on one player so they couldn't have stayed any longer than they did.

Disagree mate, Roy Keane could have played an extra season, & to be honest, if he hadn't fallen out with United, he probably would have played on for a few years more.
Think he used the " injury " excuse because he knew he had short changed the club & supporters somewhat.
As for Robbie, if he had really wanted to stay, I'm sure Celtic would have found the money, to be honest, the McGeady money could have been used, my problem was that Keane never stated that he wanted to stay, the loan deal suited both parties, but you can't say that either of the Keane's showed huge loyalty, desire to stay or commitment to Celtic.

As stated, not having a dig at either, but would rather have a player like Juarez, Kayal or even Hooper at the club who seem to want to be here for the long term, not just to kiss the badge for 6 months then leave.

Read a text story claiming Spurs were offering Keane to West Ham as part of the Scott Parker deal, this was on BBC sports text this afternoon.
