No one knows what could happen in the CL,GS team could do a lot better than what Rangers done last Season in the CL and the bhoys could put together a run of winning results from Saturday in the SPL and in the next 5 or 6 games and then who would be top Personaly once the team gells right I can see the hoops not getting beat for a lot of games but I supppose we'll have to wait and see eh??? But anything can happen in Football if ur Winnning every-one loves you!!! but if your losing Well Your time is up You get The SACK!!

ok troops now lets look at the boards thoughts on the tic team at the moment. getting cl money is a great bonus to them this year getting further in europe is another bonus.the way i see it is they dont need to buy big to win the spl as long as they get into cl next year get the cash and again any further is a bonus . so why buy 1 big name cause its gona take at least 5-6 big names to get near cl finals and we cant do it . were a big fish in jam jar

Strachan is doing a great job with the little funds that he is.

FFS we acheived a result against what i would say the strongest starting line up in the world on Wednesday.

If we can compete with Chelsea, then we can go all the way in Europe provided we injuries don't occur and the team doesn't lose form. :celt_2:

I reckon theres about £16/17m there and its all extra money nothing to do with the day to day running of the club....doesnt include season books...merchandising...money from friendlies....etc...the wage bill is down significantly

Unless he's in the relegation zone, i dont see any possibility. The problems are financial ones not mangerial one. The SPL is a severe financial handicap when it comes to competing in Europe. The difference between the SPL and the rest of Europe, financially, has never been wider.

Sufficient cash isn't being released to the manager thats a fact, everyone reading this board realises that, no one will argue otherwise, certainly not me. However angry and frustrated the board gets me with their penny-pinching and constant whining about balancing books i wont let them get me down or allow them to make me feel anything other than hopeful and opTIMistic about my clubs chances of doing well in the league or in Europe this season. Celtic's glass for me is ALWAYS half full NEVER half empty.......positive thinking my nautical friend...positive thinking. :50: :celt_2:

well if wee gord pulls the championship out the bag this season yet again ?. anyone offering odds of le guen getting pumped ?... pointless thread im sorry ...strachan has delivered last season so is fully respected / deserves this full season in charge at least... his assesment will be at the end of the season no sooner no later ... the board must give him funds. why blame the manager ffsk..he can only do his best with whats given / have and so far has done a pretty remarkable job considering the pish that was left by MON aka... high earners who are past it.. raking in loads of cash and not good enough for the jersey too old ,, thompson ,etc etc... hes got the squad age down some way and earnings another move told by the board.. and i dont care what anyone says regardless oneill got us to a uefa cup final .... i like strachans style of football more is / and has been a joy to watch at times and he has brought to celtic park the way the game / celtic are known what should be played ... on the deck with quality moves / passing/ pace in the side... not route 1 football all the time altho sometiomes that is required aswell..the only reason we where good under MON because we had 1and only world class player in scotland .aka Henrik .. he bailed us out many a times imo but by no means where we playing brilliant football at times ...just we had the messiah in the team. and that really drove us to success... i guess we need another talisman/type player maybe to drive a very good passing/skillfull/ younger team atm forward.... i mean how do ya replace Henrik Larsson ... especially in Scotland.

    What a ridiculous * thread!
:31: I'm convinced pish like this is thought up by huns on this site * stirring. Any true Celtic SUPPORTER will recognise the fantastic job done by WGS with a fraction of the money available to the previous manager. We lost one game to Hearts thanks to an individual error and the panic button has been pressed. Even with the current squad we could win the SPL and if the 2/3 new players promised are good enough we could make an impact in the CL.

You're on acid green dave. Wake up and smell what you're shufflin. we're in 3rd class seats on a 1st class train.
I love my club and it sickens me to see Portsmouth and Charlton outspending us 10-1 every year. we're on a downward slope and 60'000 fans per week doesn't seem to make the slightest f@ckin difference.
We buy * means we play * and WGS buys *.

the reason why portsmouth and charlton outspend us ..is because of premiership money and sky tv.rights deals etc ... its impossible to even compete n that level never mind what ac.milan /barca etc is gonna bring in for the C.L... Inter milan just spashed out 16m for Ibrahimovic ... that would bankrupt us ffsk (jk) but..... realise this... we have to bring in what we can within reason ... days of 6 and 7m sigings is gone for the time bieng we aim to be a rich club no a feckin administration one.we are a massive club fanbase and in europe but we cant spend 10m etc one 1 player in a pish.average league with no money in scottish football and even then who would come to the spl over the Epl * either way.

Take your * packet economics and shove it up your * mate. 60,000 fans every week doesn't even make a dent in the difference between SPL and EPL tv money. It is * that pish like Pompey and Charlton rake in 20 million every season, while we get 1 or 2million from Setanta, but that is the situation so we cannot live beyond our means.
