Lennon dismisses Celtic exit talk

Celtic captain Neil Lennon has vowed to fight to regain a starting place, despite being linked with Aston Villa.
The 35-year-old had to be content with coming off the bench against Hearts on Saturday and his poor backpass led to the Edinburgh side's winning goal.
But Lennon told BBC Sport that reports that he had held showdown talks with manager Gordon Strachan were nonsense.
Lennon was unhappy about not being in the side but was not thinking of a transfer request at this stage.
The Northern Irishman signed a new one-year contract during the summer.
But renewed speculation arose after former Celtic manager Martin O'Neill took over at Villa.
And Celtic striker Kenny Miller was hopeful that Lennon would not be tempted to move.
"He's just signed a new deal at the club and everybody wants him to stay," he said.
"He has been a massive part of the Celtic team over the last five or six seasons and he would be a great loss if he was to go.
"He's a great leader, he's a controller in the team and he would be a big miss to us."

Neil lennon has had a fantastic career at Celtic been very loyal yes i do agree we now have to limit his app this season but to say he is the most unskilled player you ever see FFS he's a Denfensive Mid he's not there to do fancy things like dragbacks,stepovers FFS.Lennon gave the game away yesterday but there no ONE man in a team they all played bad last night get off his back

 

What you need to think is to not have any feeling for or against him take the past away does'nt matter think of him as a new comer never heard of then you know that it would be better if he just went but he could do against stmirren dumfermlin during the winter

He was a Celtic great but is now 35 & 1 of the slowest players in World soccer. So some of you think we should drop Petrov or Jarosik for Lennon. Finished imo & the longer he stays the more he hurts his memory as a Celtic great!

Im not the biggest or ever have been the biggest fan of Lennon but he plays for Celtic so i support him, but to make a comment like that is a clear indication that he thinks he's bigger than the club, no one is Neil so take your bigshot attitude somewhere else. He's lucky he was just dropped and not released after some of the performances last season and pre season.
