It has took me from yesterday afternoon until now to calm down enough to come on here to say what i think about that excuse for a performance yesterday.
It was an absolute disgrace and an embarrasment to every celtic fan and dont anyone try and hit me with this its only 1 game pish and ive got a short memory and what about last weeks game. Well * last weeks game, yesterday was one of ,if not the worst performance by a celtic team that i have ever seen in my 31 years:38: and its been brewing for a while. We continue to punt high balls up the park even tho hartson or sutton are no longer there to win them. Big elvis must have been laughing his bollocks off at the ft whistle yesterday cos that was bread and butter for him. Magic was lucky to have got half a dozen touches and if miller had a supposed thigh strain then what the * was he even doing on?
Lennon? You have got to be kidding GS. Just when we score the equalizer and it looks like we might be startin to get into the game(at last) what does he do? He brings on hamburger boy. He is well past it and although he WAS great for us he is NOT now. I am no football manager but c'mon surely we can do better than this. I could go on but i find no enjoyment in slagging the team i love and i hope and pray that we get a couple of quality signings in soon or we are going to get laughed out of the CL.
C'mon Lawell and Co there must be SOME cash to spend. Your purse strings are tighter than a midge's *, give the manager a chance to save this great team of ours.

PS i am not usually all doom and gloom quite the opposite in fact but that really was * poor y-day

To those who point to kilmarnock ....its not kilmarnock who will be contesting us for the league...or kilmarnock that we will be playing in the champions league.....just because we hammer lesser teams is no sign that we are ready to face the bigger tests i.e yesterdays game, this was simply attrocious from most on the park , and showed o neill esqe..tactics i.e im gonna play "my" team....put simply we were nowhere near good enough and got found out when the question was asked, if I were lennon id appologise to the fans ..better still id leave.

They'll be jumpin' oot the windees whin we win!
up and til yesterday(before 2pm) I was thinking Stachan was playing a game with the board in a sense that if we play the way we did on sunday and in japan and other friendlies so far that it would send out a message to the board showing them the lack of quality we have in the squad and that they would be duty bound to make changes and bring in better players....now i'm not so sure as the board have no intention of bringing in anyone and will only do it out of embarrassment from the fans and media...i still have faith in Strachan but he'll go the way other managers have gone and leave due to no backing from the board. I think Hearts got him sent off on purpose and that was a clever plan to swing the game in their favour...my only advise to Strachan is in furure when you're on top of a game and going for a winner leave Lennon on the bench...better still leave him there full stop

what makes you think he's quality? why had nobody heard of him? if he's as good as were led to believe why was his contract not renewed at a club in bottom half of the turkish superleague or why did the other turkish teams not take a chance.I'm afraid even this signing don't fill me with confidence, looks like we are signing anyone as long as they don't cost any money and the wages are cheap

I have been reading posts on here with great frustration because for some reason accessing threads has been taking forever, probably a system thing. Anyway, i find it comical that Lennon, for once, made a blunder and has been held up as a scapegoat when even before he came on we had Telfer giving the ball away whenever he got it, we had McManus and Caldwell failing to win any 50/50's and showing no positional sense, Jarosik needs 60 seconds on the ball, Naka doesn't play physical games, McGeady is great ( when you are on top ) and Magic as usual offers little. I've been saying this for months, we need Balde, should never have let Hartson go and should get Sutton back if poss. WGS has stripped all the heart, character and wily football brain from the team and is trying to play a style we are not good enough to play. Everyone bemoans the lack of money but neither Hearts or Rangers are spending more. Its about how you spend it and how you set up your team. Giving WGS more does not make success a certainty

i have noticed great flaws in this team,i ike the point you make about us trying to play a style we are not good enough to play,we are not arsenal and do not have the players for it.

we have jarosik and petrov, players who need a front man up front to work off, that us what they are all about.they need a target man who can hold the ball up long enough for them to make there runs in behind, zurawski and miller are not upto this but its not there fault, its just the way they are built.

look at hartley why was he so succesful last season?

it was because bednar and in particular jankuaskis held the ball up for hartley...with miller and zurawski upfront you also disable an aspect of the our big players in midfield....then there's the defence...but this is long enough as it is.

You have many valid points in your post joehill and i agree with you on many of them but the reason lennon has been made a scapegoat on this occasion is because he was to blame! It was'nt telfer, mcmanus, caldwell or anyone else that played an excuse for a backpass when he had at least three other options (of course most if not all were in a forward direction-says it all) that resulted in us losing the fatal goal. Yes all the players mentioned before were shocking and not for the 1st time but they werent directly to blame for the goal and i suppose this is why there is alot of people on his back. As i have said in other posts Lennon is well past it, he has been a great servant for us but he is to old and to slow and should not be kept in the team simply because he WAS good in the past!
As for hartson yes he should never have been let go as he still had at least 1 more good year in him ive said this since it happened.

the problem guys is what the problem always is, the * board not using money for what its for, buying better players, as all the players you'se have stated as not being tic class are simply that, not tic class, its the boards tactics that are lacking not the managers nor the current team we, we got rid of the whites and the kellys for less as they didnt have money, we should be showing our custodians who really owns celtic as its them who need the wake-up call. hail fukin hail:help: :help: :help:

Agree with your post for the most part joehill....but Balde back? It shows you how bad we have become! :84: Strachan was in too big a hurry to get rid of the more experianced players....the winners in the side. Every side needs players to look up to, players who know what playing for the club is all about, these are players who want to win EVERY game.....league, cup, friendly...whatever.

When you sign a new player or bring in a young guy from the reserves he needs to feel he has something to live up to on the park...he needs to feel that he has to prove himself to the other players around him who have done it all, week in week out, season after season and are hero's to the fans......Where in the team today is that kind of player?

Who in the current team does any new signing or reserve player coming into the side feel he needs to impress or be in awe of?.......No one.....We have no leaders, no winners, no kick yer * men. If a guy has a bad game or if the team gets humped it appears the feeling is......so what? That will not do. Wanmadtim

yes wanmadtim i agree.:50: Whit we need is someone who, when we are in the situation we were in y-day, that can gee the players up,that will tell them to get the * finger out and get a grip of themselves and get on with it. A roy keane figure if you will cos that is somthing we are seriously lacking at the moment.

Boruc for captain? I look at the squad and he seems to be the only player with these attributes. Maybe Petrov or Thompson, but we can't make a want-away player captain, and Thompson is past it and a liability.
