Agree. I prefer to play against decent sides in the pre-season as these, and take some draws and narrow defeats, rather than playing against local Seattle / Sydney sides, or Championship clubs.

In my world Arsenal is the ultimate friendly opponent. Excellent skilled footballers that really tests our defence and shows us our weak links, and a defense that's better than those we usually playes against, but not impossible to score against.

 

Indeed mate If you dont pit yourself against some of the best, how are you going to step it up a gear?

 

the hard bit about beating the spl teams is that at CP they have 10 men behind the ball and away, most of them have small pitches to cramp up the space, but im optimistic about the coming season, think we will win the league at least

Here's what I took away from the game. Jack Wilshire is an *. Theo Walcott is really good. Hooiveld seems to be able to read the game pretty good. Cha is * fast.

 

This was one of those games that reminds me never to turn off a game no matter how bad it is looking.. After Nasri scored that third goal I had enough, I figured we would get buried 5-0, I had work to do anyway.. After I heard that Celtic came back real strong but we still lost, I had to watch a recording of the second half.. Haha. The only thing that I am worried about is, fighting back strong towards the end of the game against tired opponents is great, but we can't really do that on Wednesday.. We need to fight back hard and strong during both halves. Anyway Sammy (aside from the PK), Jaurez, Ki, and Fortune had a GREAT game today.. I hope they are in the starting eleven on Wednesday. Hoop looked like a real prospect again when he came on late in the game as well.

Cha is fast as *. Perfect signing for us, what a steal for a player like that. The German fans still hold him in high regard, too.

 

My mistake but lookin at his stats it looks like he'd be a good signing.

 

Samaras was the game-changer today.

He also made a major difference to us when he came on against Man U.

Against quality opposition, it seems, he is one of the few players we have who can step up a level.

Should be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

 

Ki really needs to be given an attacking role. He can't defend for * and just seems lost in a holding role. He could really make a difference if he plays in the hole and is given the chance to play one twos with a winger or striker
