I agree the team on the park will determine celtics destiny not frugality off it...youve got to speculate to accumulate ....dermot desmond knows this fine well ...he doesnt want to increase his 29% stake or he ll have to buy the club outright ...but theres other ways of investing..ask roy keane ...nod nod wink wink

That was just a rumour suttonstheman, cant be proven either way. Remember that the media like to make up stories. Dermot Desmond owns about 42%, only because he's the only person putting in decent investments and now he'* the wall.

We cant invent new investors, cant make people put in money. The club must be able to paddle itself without constant investments or we'll go back someone bailing us out just before bankruptcy.

The football is important is everbody but the board are trying to secure the long term future of the club, Strachan isnt getting huge money bacause he didnt make the CL, the board have made commitments to the training ground, debt, reducing the spending overall etc. They give money to GS for funds, they impact something. Something they say they were going to do, doesnt get done.

Celtic went to court and got it changed. They argued that a FC is run alot different to normal PLC businesses.

The driving factor in going to court was because DD was at 29% and couldnt invest much more and he wanted to underwrite the cost of the training ground.

Maybe DD could have a word with JP McManus and John Magnier, his fellow investors from when Man Utd were a PLC. They are sports mad people aswell with more money than sense.

PL is doing a good job. Getting us past the next couple of years is going to be the thing. After that we will be in a great position with all the young kids coming through. Six Celts in the Scotland U19 team that reached the European final against Spain. The future excites me enormously. And the gravy train is going to be long term too.
