Kinda getting * off that Celtic cannot afford this player, cannot afford that player.

The prices of players are so inflated these days, the prices keep getting more ridiclous every year.

In the not to soon future, Celtic will die along with the other SPL teams as all the big leagues progress.

Other teams should respect our valuation of players and pay the * price. I don't walk in Comet, pick up a TV and walk over to the counter and ask if I can get it half price.

Why do you think players say its great to be joining a great club all they think about is there wages at the end of the week or month coz think about it would you not like to play for £30,000 grand a week OR £40,000,£50,000,£60,000,£70,000 WOW that would be some wage packet+most players get bonuses for scoring goals!!
I blame the English Premiership coz look at mega-bucks Chelsea they can buy who-ever they want the same with Man-Utd.

    Money Talks and ALWAYS WILL!!

Money also wins things. Look at the richest clubs throughout all of the leagues and almost always the richest take home the silverwear!

I think bad management handicaps Celtic, and impedes our progress, and here I exclude GS at the moment.

You miles of the mark there. The SPL is a poor league and the SFA doesnt generate a quarter same amount of prizemoney and TV revenue that Spain, England, Germany, Holland or France does for their teams.

Do you want the board to spend beyond their means?

well put mate...getting sick of it all look at the EPL. chelsea are ruining it for every one....apart from the top 4 the rest of the clubs run at a loss...we need to get in the Premiership as we would be running away with it due to the pulling power we'd have.....money is the root of all evil and it's tearing football apart...the most common phrase i see on this site is "HE WOULD BE BRILLIANT FOR US BUT WOULD BE WAY OUT OF OUR PRICE" :47: i see it once more i'll fooking roundhouse my monitor :31:

Unfortnately your corrected. Most teams now have more money than sense, as PL said Newcastle tabled an offer for Dean Ashton for 10 million and we bought a player twice is better than him in Chris Sutton for 6 million. We can't compete with that money.

As soon as we enter the market for a player with Dean Aston's quality the asking price is 10 million. PL is right in saying how hard it is to get quality targets in. The only chance we have is getting players young therefore cheap or looking in Eastern Europe were we can buy players reasonably cheap.

You're dethatched from reality if you think Celtic would run away with the EPL just because we have a large fanbase

it would take a few years but we'd be in the top 5 and we'd get bigger and stronger....no one comes to celtic because of the SPL and wages....if we were in the EPL we'd be raking it in(tv deals merchandise etc.)and have no trouble getting players...we'd have to beat them off with a * stick...the big clubs don't want us getting in cos there scared this....

Yip its true. The Prem clubs don't want us because they are scared of us.

We would win the Prem but in a for years time from getting entry for it. And sooner or later we would become CL Champions.

One of the main attractions for players to Celtic is CL football, going to the EPL, we loose that attraction for a couple of years

well fogive me for making a political comment here but ... i've lived my first 10 years in communist regime , now i live since 16 years in a new capitalist western world framework . I have experienced everything if you might say so ... Now i really wonder what was worst of those two life styles? The thruth is the todays world is no good either ... The rich are getting reacher , while the poor are getting poorer . That's what western civilization is all about . Everyhting in that western way of live is just Money, Money, Money . Don't get me wrong , i work a good job and get descent money here in Bulgaria , but just don't like the relations between people in the conditions of western economic lifestyle . Before , during the communism we might be poorer but people treated each other with humanity , today we're wolves for each other . nothing else . Everything is just money ... The same with football ... Rich clubs are getting richer , poor clubs are getting poorer . Rich clubs are getting best footballers , poor clubs are selling good footballers . We're in the fukin' Matrix pals :)

Its still at least 6 games in the biggest club competition in the world. It would appeal to a pro footballer

The wages situation is a joke(and not a funny one at that) they will have to put a wage cap on players salary's soon like they do in yank sports

I live in the USA and am retired, I agree with this, there is no so called American dream anymore, and the so called middle class are going doon the drain!
Now back to fitba, in reality Celtic and Rangers have monopolized Scottish football, more or less under these circumstances.
However having said that, Celtic may have a greeeeeeeeeeeate support and they do, they are not getting the benefit of this world wide backing fan wise, because of the so called frugal prudent people running the * club!
Anyhoo thats how I see it! :84:

Hubert, how much does Celtic get for winning (prizemoney) the SPL and how much does a EPL club get for finishing just above relegation?
