Hope this happens, he was a leader for Stuttgart and certainly has the presence we require in goal. Won't get many better free transfers than this.

We definately need a keeper and this chap may very well be a good, affordable option.

lenny needs to get him in , he is a proven top class keeper and he is FREE !
no sense in paying for another keeper when he has stated he would join us already.

this has to happen and it would be a GREAT signing for celtic and the perfect replacement for the holy goalie !
i would be ecstatic if he joined us please let it happen
timo the tim get in there son !!!!!!!!!

He was great in Stuttgart but then he move to valencia and...*

hoffenheim give him an contract but then they had 5 keepers so they let him go... now they have 3/4 keepers

he trained hard in stuttgart this summer with ex-stuttgart goalkepper-trainers and is now good in form :50:

Makes sense to sign this guy, established, experienced and free.

But 'sense' and Celtic do not mix.

I would think Hildebrand would be a very good signing for us. He was oustanding during his Stuggart days. He had a rough time during his year at Valencia and last season at Hoffenheim wasn't a massive improvment. But at 31 he has a lot left in him and when you take 8 largely good years at Stuggart over the last 2 I would be happy to see us get him on board.

I think NL has been told 'you have spent enough' !! As far back as I can remember Celtic have never considered any player a 'free', because the Board always include salary/bonuses within the Transfer Budget. We have brought in 7 players, so I am guessing, with wages/signing on fees etc, the cupboard is bare and will be so until/unless Aiden goes elsewhere. Also I think everything would become clearer if James Milner went from Villa to Man City and Aiden is going through the motions hoping that Villa & MON come in for him.

Erm, well generally it was a joke, but if you want me to elaborate then I will. It would make sense to have a left back who can defend, we have ignored this for a couple of years now and it's not 'going to just go away'. Same applies for CB's. last year our CB pairings always looked suspect. Loovens has always looked like a bomb scare waiting to happen, as does O'Dea etc. Getting rid of Mcmanus was a risk and he was not replaced, even though this should have been seen as a priority. Hooiveld for all his personality is also somewhat of an unknown so far, but here's hoping.

What we have done is buy a million midfielders, along with insane buys such as Murphy and Mulgrew (my sheepshagging mates were even perplexed by this). Murphy is 27 and has basically achieved nothing of note in the game so far, worrying.

Sense would/should also dictate that we get a 3rd goalkeeper, a true number one. Not a 27 year old Spanish 2nd choice, 2nd tier keeper. Someone like this chap from Germany.

So going back to the comment you disagreed about, that Celtic lack sense, It look's thus far that we are prioritising in the wrong departments, midfielders which we have loads etc. Everyone is correct on this board when they say we need CB's, LB and a goalie, but it seems it doesn't seem exciting enough for Celtics 'football manager' signings policy.

    Also Fortune = 4.5 million

    Sums up our sense.
