    How so? They've offered well below the asking price which has been made clear.

    To get us to talk they need to offer pretty much what we want? Bollocks. It needs to be closer than that offer.

    Again, bollocks. To express their interest, they tell Celtic they're interested. Simple. You don't throw out a bid that falls way short of our valuation.

    Hooper has been a consistent goal scorer for a number if years, was on the verge of an England call up earlier on in the season before he got injured and in one of his seasons with us had one of the best goals to games ratios in Europe he is easily worth 9-10 million and if Norwich got pulled into a relegation battle his goals would probably keep them up which is worth a lot more than any marketing power of any player if Norwich want him then they need to dig deeper in there pockets and come up with the money

    Correct, and it's up to us to knock this low offer because we're in the SPL bullshit on the head by knocking back these insulting amounts. He's scored for fun in England, scored for fun in the SPL and has proven he can score at the highest level in club football, the UEFA Champion League, £5m is a joke of an offer in my opinion.

    I would like to keep the squad together at least until the summer time. The 5milion is too little if we can keep him until the summer 7, 8 or even 9 million would be more the price range in my opinion. Selling in the summer would bring in more money too I think.

    Help Hooper Stay!!!

    First off, it's clear we want Hoops to stay!!!

    However, it's also clear Hoops wants to play international football.

    Let's do what we can can to help...

    If it works, great!

    If it doesn't work, he will see our efforts and hopefully still a positive outcome for us!!!

    How can we do this, I hear you all ask...

    Simples! Hit www.twitter.com and post;

    <s>@</s>FA if you truly want fairness in football as <s>@</s>FIFAcom do, then select <s>@</s>HOOP588 Otherwise how can <s>@</s>celticfc compete in Europe? <s>#</s>Statsdontlie

    Yet another way of proving that we really are the best supporters in the world!!!

    And you can all say you played your part!!!

    Spread the word!!!

    No player is bigger than the club,we should never have to beg someone to stay,and I certainly won't be :50:

    We create plenty of chances for strikers to score goals, imo if Tony Watt had same game time as Hooper he would score as many goals, so if hooper wants to go let him, once we get our value, and as above poster says no players is bigger than their club.

    Wasn't he meant to get a call up last international break, but was injured?
    I think he might just be be sick of playing in the SPL.

    I don't want Hooper to play for England the same as i would rather Izzy didn't go to Honduras and the same with the rest of the squad wouldn't want to risk injury.

    I dont care for international football

    Cute :frilly:

    Online petitions and tweeting would get you nowhere with most things and certainly this.

    It's up to Celtic when they want to let him go, I think it will be in the summer and I'll wish him good luck. Scored a lot of goals for us :50:

    Dont think this would make the slightest bit of difference.

    At the end of the day, money is what talks.

    For those responding to the 'Help Hooper Stay' thread that was merged in;
    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
    Wow!<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    First off, thanks for taking into account the thoughts and feelings of the OP...<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    If I were a 12 year old bhoy struggling with everyday life the above responses would certainly give me the validation that life actually is worth living...<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    Main point is, Hoops has stated he wants to stay - so no need to 'beg to stay' - the biggest sticking point is lack of international call ups...<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    If this was Jinky or Henrik we would be battering down doors at the respective FA, however thanks to the world of social media we can do so without batting an eyelid and without looking anywhere near 'pathetic'<o:p></o:p>
    <o:p></o:p>
    And whilst I'm sure we can find another goal scorer to replace Gary Hooper, should he decide to move on, let me point out the obvious - the longer a group of players stays together the better...

    However - and let this be a message to all - think before you post, as next time it might be someone vulnerable who sees the forum as an escape from everyday life, so FFS, disagree in nicer fashion!!!
    <o:p></o:p>
    Back on track, as for begging - we are certainly not begging the player - we are merely drawing the attention of the numb nuts down south to a source of goals...

    Y'all would've signed a petition (and very probably physically posted the piece of paper) to keep Henke or Jinky at Paradise, so why not take a few seconds to post a message for someone who could be this decades Henke?

    Or are you all too busy on facebook?
    <o:p></o:p>

    I'm not picky.
    I'm glad that Celtic and Lennon are sticking to their guns by not letting Hooper go. These EPL clubs think they can just waltz in, wave a few million £ about and think it's a done deal. Lennon told Southampton I think it was last year to * off after their paltry offers, and I think he's doing the right thing in telling Norwich to * off as well.

    No offence to Norwich, but Hooper has so much more to achieve here than he does with a lower end EPL club. He's on course for winning his second SPL title with the team, we're in the last 16 of the Champions League, he's playing well and scoring. I don't see why he would give all that up to go to a club that won't have that.

    It will be a different story if we get a ridiculous amount offered for him i.e. over £10m, but unless that happens hopefully Lennon wouldn't even entertain them.
