He will score goals, he will create goals! It's what he does!

What he needs though, is a strike partner. If he plays up front with Stokesy he links up well and either provides goals or assists - involved in 2/3 of the 4 Vs Well, as was Stokesy.

Sometimes your STs don't score! Can't say I remember a 'drop Henrik or Sutty or Hartson' thread if they didn't score for a game or two...

And no, before you all start, I'm not comparing them. But Hooper & Stokes are our current STs and they'll continue to do the business, one way or another!

This hasn't been two games though LB it has been months where we have seen an out of form hooper whose attitude has been pretty rank at times over the past 3/4 months.

5 league games 3 goals, 20 in 26 last season. not bad for a rank player with a bad attitude.

You can throw goal stats at me all you want, but mcdonald kept on scoring goals even when he was a moany wee *. Ever since the cup final last season against the huns, he hasn't looked the same, yes he is still scoring goals, but from a celtic striker i not only expect that kind of return on goals from the chances we create but also a good positive attitude and good workrate.

And since when did i call him a rank player, at no point did i say that, all i am saying is hooper has been poor recently and his goals stats just cloud the point.

you said his attitude was rank.
"where we have seen an out of form hooper whose attitude has been pretty rank at times over the past 3/4 months"

your stuff about his poor attitude is * ridiculous. i couldd't even be arsed arguing about it. even if i thought his attitude was rank ICGAF as long as he keeps up his scoring record.

this is from after the huns cup final, he was superb and smiled almost all the game, where's the rank attitude?

he ran amok against motherwell last weekend. 23 league goals in 31 starts, i'm happy with that...plus another 2 to come this weekend!

Stats tell one story, but my eyes tell me another... Hooper has not exhibited the same movement or link-up play that he did from Sep-Feb of last season.

He's looked a shadow of the player he was.

The same can be said of the defence... we had great defensive stats for last year, but in reality our defence tied itself in knots every time a team advanced on us! The stats were only low because our midfield retained so much possession during games and broke up so much play. Our defence largely had SFA to do and choked on the rare occasions when a team did go forward!

Since when did a rank attitude equate to a rank player, i am at odds with that. Ohh wonderful you choose a game where hooper scores and hes smiling of course hes * smiling when he has scored a goal, were you watching the game last night, poor workrate, poor touch, face like a wee gnaff moaning when one of his passes didn't come off.

It is my opinion that he has been poor recently, yes he has still been scoring but my * playing for celtic in the spl you should be scoring with the level of opposition against you. Everytime in europe so far when he has played, this season whether on his own or partnered with samaras he looked like he wasn't happy with who he was playing with and i don't like that, maybe he prefers to play with stokes all the time instead of sammy but that shouldn't be used as some sort of excuse for a poor performance.

It's hard to pick a game where he hasn't scored though...

+1 or setting up goals for others!

put it this way, i'm more confident of a victory when he's on the park.

I have no qualms about his scoring record but like scootz is saying it rather clouds the poor form i have been seeing from him, frankly devlin you or i should score playing for celtic in the spl.

To be fair, what striker would be happy playing with Samaras?

When Hooper and Stokes play together they almost always score goals and have great movement and understanding. Why Lennon insists on breaking them up every couple of matches is beyond me.

Hooper getting slated again-unbelievable! some people on here really need to get a clue about football. A striker's job is to score goals-Hooper does it regularly so what's the problem?

i picked it to show your claim about him not playing well after the LC final is utter bollocks. so basically you're talking pish. he scored a goal and had a hand in the other 3 and smiled the whole way through the game, despite apparently having a rank attitude.

he had a poor game last night, dry your * eyes and get on with it. it happens.
