So it was a scoreless tie with Chivas?:87: The goats weren't kicking today, I guess....
Now, for the New England Revolution:84: . This is an offensively minded team, a bit troubled this year [injuries and WC losses of personnel] but surely looking to put it all together against a team with the renown and following of Celtic [and it doesn't hurt that the Boston--basketball--Celtics may bring out some confused by brand recognition]. Steve Nicol, the ex-Scot international, who now manages the team, usually sets up with a 3-5-2 system. Key players are [1] the central defender, Parkhurst, young but very promising. [2] Shalrie Joseph, a defensive midfielder, the team leader in many ways, who but for the misfortune of playing at a young age with the Grenada national team would surely have been on the Yanks WC squad this year [3] Taylor Twellman, who has the knack of lulling defenses to sleep with ordinary play only to suddenly slice in wicked goals if given but half a chance. Averages just under a goal a match in his professional career. [4] Patrick Noonan. When healthy a very fast and creative midfielder/forward, but is just returned from a severe hamstring injury...may not be up to snuff by tuesday. [5] Andy Dorman. A young Welsh player, who actually came through the USA's collegiate system. Reliable, hardworking, and strong leg. [6] Rick Dempsey, except for Shalrie Joseph the most dominating on the squad. One of the very few bright spots in this last WC nightmare. Is seemingly EPL bound after this MLS season is over. The rest of the squad is good, but not as good or is prone to erratic play [for example, the keeper Matt Reis can be spectacular one match, and dreck the next:31: . Methinks you will probably see Wagner in goal against Celtic].
    I don't know who will win, but I guarantee you this...it will not be a 0-0 match!:86:
Will Nakamura and Boruc be playing for Celtic?

LORDOFEYE bascially has the scouting report spot on. I would add a couple of things. First, the numbers he uses are really in no particular order. Also, its Clint Dempsey, not Rick Dempsey, and he is the Revs most creative player by far right now. Another player to watch is Steve Ralston who is a bit of an older player, the write up for him is much like the write up for Noonan as both are coming off injuries. Joseph has the same position, body size, and dreads as Sno, should be a good match up if they go into a challenge. Parkhurst is a good young defender but seems to be hitting a sophmore slump. Be careful of Twellman on set pieces and scrums in the box, he is small but he always seems to get a head or a toe on the ball to put it into the net in the last ten minutes.

I would really like to see Celtic beat these guys 4-0, if only so I can make fun of the Revs fans.

Colonial is right about it being "Clint", after all Dempsey is from Texas . Shame on me for spacing out on that one :54:
But Colonial must be a DC United fanatico to so want to see my noble Revs smashed by Celtic. Let's see what happens in the playoffs, Colonial!:47:
At least he agrees with me that it won't be 0-0 :84:

Should be a good match. New England's standing is not indicative of their quality. They've been hurt by injuries and missing Clint Dempsey for a number of games due to the World Cup. Taylor Twellman was a surprise exclusion from the US squad, Pat Noonan and Steve Ralston had good shots to make it as well but were injured. Shalrie Joseph is IMO one of the top 4 or 5 players in MLS but is probably underrated due to playing for Grenada.

One good thing about this match will be the pitch. No FieldTurf and no baseball markings. A proper pitch.

Yeah, I'm a DC United fan. Let me just be clear, I want it to be 4-0. I think it will be 2-1 Revs. But if Salt Lake City can beat New England 3-1 in Foxboro, anything can happen in this match.

As much as it pains me to say it, Shaydee is right about the pitch. It will be the best one you've seen on your American tour.

If New England is on their game, they are as good as DC United. I think it will be 1-1.

I am not good at predicted scorelines, so this might help Celtic, I say 2-0 Revolution?

Darn. You almost had me excited there for a minute. Maybe that would make up for Reyna playing for Rangers though . . .
