No Chance of ever happening his wages are too high & also he was main trouble maker in the France dressing room at the world cup! He also had several fall outs with Arsenal , Nobody in the Arsenal team speaks to him as they all dislike him that much as he's a arrogant *! Lennon wont stand 4 it!

This is pure bullshit everyone is entitled to their own opinion but this will never happen he would command far too much money.. FACT he wanted more than arsenal would pay so i cant see him taking a wage cut and coming to us, until we get into the champions league proper then we wont be signing blue chip signings until then , we dont wanna end up like our broke neighbours now do we? We have enough quality to win the league now imo anyone else agree?

its not lawwells money, when will people realise that?

lawwell is a director who is given the budget and works with the manager to use it.

lawwell only makes like £100,000 per annum i know its a lot of money, but not in football..

took this from another celtic forum:

Senior sources at Celtic Park last night confirmed that the former Chelsea defender, whose contract with Arsenal ran out at the end of the season, has been in touch with them.

However, the 32 year-old’s representatives have also been in contact with a handful of other clubs across Europe, including Juventus, Malaga and Panathinaikos.

The Greek club thought they were leading the race to sign Gallas, but negotiations broke down with officials at Panathinaikos claiming it was difficult to reach an agreement because of the player’s wage demands.

The Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has said he expects Gallas, who was earning £80,000 a week at the club, to move on.

Gallas’ defensive partner at the Emirates, Sol Campbell, is also out of contract, and has already been offered a two year-deal by Celtic.

Meanwhile, the Scnuthorpe United manager Nigel Adkins admitted last night that he is all but resigned to losing Gary Hooper to Celtic. The 22 year-old is out of contract next summer, and Adkins is wary of losing the £2.4million-rated striker without a fee.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon said he was very hopeful of having both Hooper and Maccabi Haifi’s Birim Kayal signed this week, although only Hooper appears to have a realistic chance of featuring in Wednesday’s Champions League qualifier against Braga.

David James, another free agent, is also ready to meet with the Parkhead manager tomorrow to discuss a move. On the England No 1, Lennon said: “He is coming up on Monday to have talks and to take a look at the place. We will take it from there.”

I think we're maybe using different definitions of the word "slower"

You're maybe talking about top speed, whereas we are talking about reaction time and acceleration.

Pains me to do this, but here are the Artmedia "highlights". It's quite clear on a number of occasions that they have a deliberate tactic of playing the ball in behind Balde, and getting their quick forwards to nip in behind him. He is so slow to react and turn that it works depressingly well.

Unfortunately, it's reaction time and acceleration that are vital for a defender, not top speed - because by the time he reaches his top speed, it's already too late.

WILLIAM Gallas will hold talks this week about a move to Celtic.

If we signed Gallas it would be the one signing to me that would really indicate that we as club are back on the up! He is a quality defender still, type of player I would even take in a couple of seasons time, played for 2 top clubs in recent years in Chelsea and Arsenal, experience at playing at just about every level of football. Yes please!
