No CL team plays with any more than 2 strikers, which is why a constant 3 at the back would do with 2 wing backs. Balde might have have his 'wonder' moments, but look at his timing with challenges (especially in the box) compared to our other CB's. When did you ever see him losing out on an aerial challenge? Plus he has this CL 'experience' which means absolutely nothing, if your good enough your good enough. Look at villareal! Did any of there players have CL experience? No! But they played together as a team and reached the semi-final. It's not about each individual player, it's about putting them together as a strong unit to punch above there weight!:celt_2:

If anyone saw the flag "Boruc #1", I put that up. If you saw someone carrying the flag out of the stadium, that was me.

Brady your way wrong on Balde, he challenges awkwardly because he is awkward, he fouls often too near the box or in the * box, a no no in my books, his head clearances are poor at best, he rarely clears a head ball to one of his own players, simply because he lacks ability and class.
Balde has injured his own players challenging for a ball, McManus scores and is much more dangerous at corners for Celtic, and believe me you watch any previous game, watch where the ball goes when he is clearing in our defense, Balde is a liability, Balde is a blunderer, and Balde is not nor ever will be a fitba player.

just got back, well i just got back from a pub I went to after the match. decent game, much better than the other night. not much of a crowd but keep in mind the stadium holds about 80,000. I'd say 20,000, thought there would be more Mexicans but I guess there are more Club America fans around here.

These games have highlighted how essential it is to get a physical presence upfront. The ball just kept on coming back and no one was able to hold up the ball.

I think it highlighted Kenny Miller may not be good enough. Still have faith in Magic/Beattie but with suspensions and injures another striker is necessary

How dare you critisise a Scottish international :86:

On a serious note, I was not impressed when we signed him, I feared he is not good enough. after 4 games Im still not impressed. Still I hope he'll prove me wrong, but I cant see him starting when our strikers are fit.

I missed last nights game but feel Miller has looked a better bet than Beattie in the previous ones.

i was just happy we kept a clean sheet cause mick and caldwell just are working well together so far theyre too far apart at times and caldwell seems a bit mistake prone, but its another 90 under theryre belt together so im happy cause thats the pairing at cb for the start of the season from what i can see

again i was really impressed with mark wilson think the bhoy is a great player they had most of theyre joy down telfers side surprise surprise he is the weakest of the weaklinks lol , also impressed with jarosik again and millar has shown nothing yet but we hardly created a chance last nite so not all his fault we need a senior striker in imo but not before a left bk so we can shift willo to the right and get telfer to *

Watched the game and I am delighted on that performances - comparing it to the last few games. We showed a sign of sharpness, a want to win and the performance from the team overall was just far better. Kenny Miller hasn't done anything to impress me so far, but I'll still give him a chance at it. Impressed with Jarosik though, think he'll be a great player for us next year.

Good result I don't like the new Setanta Presentor fs. Celtic played well put a few passes together McGeady was brillant anyone see his Roulette that beat 3 players. Riordan wasn't in the game. I had a good laugh at the Chivas sponsor 'Bimbo'.

Its probabley unfair to judge either at the moment as the midfield have been so poor, constantly on the back foot and have created nothing for them.

I thought McGeady was excellent again will have to start SPL, he has been our best & most consistent player so far preseason & Jarosik was excellent good signing. Lennon is just too slow!

McGeady and Jarosik have been good but the midfield has not functioned. Petrov isn't interested and Lennon is destroying our flow instead of the opposition. Instead of carrying the ball out of defence he sucks our midfield back into our own half making it difficult to attack as we are so deep, leaving the strikers isolated. Also, I haven't seen him get close enough to make a tackle never mind win one in either game, that is his primary role.

Can't believe that I'm sticking up for Lennon but while people criticise him he does actually do stuff for Celtic that's a postive. Maybe it's just the beer goggles from the game though.
