I know you can't take much off a youtube video but this guy looks a lot more direct than say Crosas. I'm not a Crosas fan and wouldn't be to disapointed to see him go. Just think he can be very negative a lot of the time and takes the pace out a game. Plus he doesn't score enough goals.

Goals from midfield is a must this year if we stand a chance at taking the title. It just hasn't be good enough the last to seasons.

Biram Kayal is what you would call an "explosive" midfielder. No pun intended.

    From sport5.co.il

Haifa players after hearing the news yesterday, cheered and wished Kayal good luck on his new path.
Sources close to the deal said: "Everyone here really hopes that it will come to a close in the coming days. Negotiations between the parties are at a very advanced stage, but currently there is still no end solution ."

As it looks now, a number of small details will be ironed out in the coming days.

    ........................................................................................................................

Biram is flying back to Israel from the training camp in Bulgaria where the earliest negotiations took place, it seems that everything is agreed in principle and that there are only minor points to overcome.

Instead of trying to be edgy and provocative lets all agree that it is a great thing that an Israeli Arab is getting to play high profile football in Europe, not just for him and his future career at club and national level but also for the entire region and lets hope that he does well and that we enjoy the next season of football.

Really hope this guy signs - hes our new Petrov - will hopefully adapt well to the SPL but by the looks of the video he isnt scared to put it about as well as showing composure and great ability on the ball - will be an amazing signing !

Dunno if anyone has posted this video but he looks like a great ball winner, certainly not scared to get stuck in and scrap. Just what we need in the centre of the park imo.

Really like the look of him, I know it's easy to make anyone look good on a youtube video, but he looks like a hard working ball winner who can pick out a pass or hold the ball well, just what we need.
Hope this one is a goer.

    Hoop is a Hoop | The Sun |Home Scotland|Scottish Sport|SPL

Meanwhile, Biram Kayal is ready to turn down offers from Galatasaray and Twente Enschede - and join Celtic for less money.
The Israeli defensive midfielder is in talks with the Hoops over a £1.2m switch from Maccabi Haifa.
Kayal, who has 12 caps, is being tracked by a host of teams all over Europe.
But his agent Dudu Dahan insists that the player's first choice would be Celtic - even if it meant he'd only be on HALF the money he could earn elsewhere.
Dahan told SunSport: "There have been discussions but nothing has happened yet. Celtic is a very famous club in Israel. Biram would be willing to go to Celtic for 30 to 50 per cent less money than he'd get from other clubs after him.
"Galatasaray and Twente Enschede can offer a lot more money, but when Celtic came into the picture, we ended their interest as we thought they were the best club to go to."
Dahan reckons the Celtic fans would take to Kayal very quickly.
He said: "Biram would love playing for Celtic because he loves to play for the fans.
"He plays with a big heart and gives 100 per cent in every game.
"He is only 22 yet he has so much experience for that age."
Dahan added: "We'll have more opportunities if this doesn't happen, but both parties WANT it to happen.
"I think the picture will be a lot more clearer in the next couple of days though."

always good to hear that a player is not just motivated by money, like the fact that he is willing to turn down more cash to come hear. although we have to take his agent at face value in this. Like the sound of this boy and he has a fair bit of experience for a 22yr old, played a few games in the champions league already. Hope he signs

Fighter Kayal will offer Celtic ballast in midfield.

Fighter Kayal will offer Celtic midfield ballast - Herald Scotland | Sport | SPL | Celtic

    Alison McConnell

    24 Jul 2010
Neil Lennon has already posted notice that he plans to work up a sweat in the transfer market over the next few weeks, but while the composition of the Celtic squad overall remains a work in progress, one area appears to be coming together.
The manager is expected to complete the signing of Biram Kayal, the 22-year-old Israeli internationalist, this weekend with the holding midfielder completing a move from Maccabi Haifa and becoming the final piece of the midfield jigsaw.
It remains to be seen just how Lennon casts his side for the coming season, but it seems that recent signings will dominate the centre of the park.
Joe Ledley is expected to fill the role on the left-hand side vacated by the seemingly imminent departure of Aiden McGeady, with Efrain Juarez, the Mexican internationalist, on the other flank. Between them will be Kayal and Scott Brown, should Lennon opt for a straightforward four-man midfield. While Ledley, Juarez and even Brown all have attacking intentions, Kayal is expected to be the protector of the defence.
If Lennon changes tack and goes for five across the middle – a system he relished as a player under Martin O’Neill and which reaped considerable success for the Parkhead side – he could also throw Ki Sung-Yueng into the equation.
Interestingly, that quintet are all around the same age, with Brown the unlikely veteran at 25. Ki, at 21, is the youngest, while Juarez at 22 and Ledley at 23 still have their best years ahead. But crucially, all have plenty of first-team experience.
Last season much was made of the porous nature of Celtic’s defence, and while the backline was unsettled and consistently vulnerable, there was scant protection offered ahead of them.
Kayal’s job will be to bring balance and dig to a midfield that appeared limp and lifeless too often last term. With 12 senior caps, the Israeli not only has youth on his side – important when it comes to considering his resale value – but also two years of first-team football.
Moshe Harash, an Israeli journalist who has watched Kayal’s progress from a youth-team prospect to a fully-fledged first-team player with both club and country, believes that the midfielder will fit in well.
“He is a very ambitious character and he has a lot of belief in his own ability,” Harash said. “He is a confident player and believes that he can go on and make a name for himself as the best player in Israeli football.
“He is hugely popular in Israel because he is a fighter. He is not a soft player. He is hard in the tackle and solid in midfield and he is loved by the Maccabi fans because of this. It is the same when he plays with the national side.
“Of course, he knows that it might take him a little bit of time to settle into a different league and he has only ever known Israeli football. But he has wanted to go to Europe for a few years now. Standard Liege tried to sign him last year, but Maccabi were not prepared to sell him because they wanted him in the team as they were trying to win the championship.
“His reputation at the moment is that he is one of the most talented home-grown players in Israel and much is expected of him when he moves to Europe.”
Such pressure will only intensify if, or when, he arrives at Celtic Park.

Great - yet another, bustling combative midfielder.

Lennon doesn't seem to understand there's only so many bustling combative midfielders you can use. Mibbe because he was a bustling combative midfielder himself.

Where is the imagination? Where is the flair?

Bottom line is you can't fill a football team with all the same type of player, or you have no balance. I truly hope Lenny understands this basic fact...

If you play 4-5-1 is 2 behind a 3 then it works perfectly.

I Love it !!! What a midfield !! With Paddy as the super sub and by the looks of things hooper as our main striker, somebody with pace, something lennon clearly wants in this team....maybe to make up for his lack of pace in his day :87:
