I think we would be looking at him for a role behind the loan striker in Europe. I dont think any of our current players could do that role as well as him.

He is a quality player and I would be happy for him to sign:50:

That was the only thing ledley did against utd, bullard will score the goals from midfield I hope we get him tbh.

    Bullard is a quality player

there are guys on here saying we are covered with the likes of Maloney, Brown etc....

Maloney hasnt kicked a ball since returning to Celtic, and the stick brown gets is unreal from parts of the support.

Bullard was on the fringes of the England side just over a year ago, and was constantly linked with Arsenal until he picked up his knee injury.

Bullard would be a quality addition to our squad, scores a lot of goals from midfield, great passer of the ball, great movement, ball retentions excellent, great experience, would bring a more of a limelight to Celtic from down south.... there are more pluses than minuses to our side.

And Ive also read people saying "he doesnt care about Celtic.... he's only here for money"

he is from England lads, you name me one footballer at celtic or anywhere else for that matter thats not in it for money, you would struggle to name any. lets get away from this nonsense that players want t come to celtic for other reasons.

If heskey can get in the squad ahead of bullard different posistions and all but still it says it all , injury or not if your not in the team you just not in the team simple, his "experience" other then playing against some good players 2-3 times a season (i mean it in the sense that he plays Manu Etc.. 2-3 times season btw) amounts to nothing but averageness and a mix of faliure, yes Maloney hasn't kicked a ball since his return near enough through injury and what have ya but still Bullard who would cost more to pay is no different any more we'd be paying him to do what sadly Maloney done last season and just keep the Phyiso company.

Also as well come to think of it since Maloney was out most of the season and our lack of attacking play/goals from midfield was shocking is there some sort of link there maybe?

with other players mainly Brown I feel managers have maybe not used him correctly as his best games have oddly come from him playing out on the right or in a more attacking role ala the ONE game he played in that role against Dynamo although tbf it sounds from your post your sticking up for Brown a way which is good.

going back to him being injury prone if bullard was to come here i can imagine because he would one cocky english man he would get two shades of * hack out of him from the so called pros in this league

when bullard was being touted for arsenal even if he went would he really have been a regular any way as i think that if he did he would have very much a bit part player or even an impact sub, lets not forget that N'guemo was wanted by arsenal aswell and to a degree he was very very average for us

I did want to sign him at first but now that we have secure Ledley and Juarez there is no need for him here

Despite him messing around, I would still take him in a hearbeat. He is a real quality player, he has a great pass on the ball and great vision.
He will chip in with a few goals and has a great personality both on and off the pitch.
If he does come I hope he doesn't read this thread!

He's not needed anymore, he would be good, but we now have a quality midfield.
Lets Strengthen the Other Important Areas (Strikers and Centre backs). Then once that's done, and both us and him are still interested then we'll see. He'd be good but wages that need to be spent in other areas.

Bullard is a top player, on his day he can be brillant but the guys been plagued with injurys for a long time.

What where to happen if he came and lets say Celtic are paying him 30 grand a week and he picks up an injury and thats his season over, Celtic are then stuck with crocked player paying him 30 grand.

Id much prefer Liam Lawrence, hes younger than Bullard and he isnt injury prone. Plus Lawrence is a top player has done the job for Ireland anytime hes playing and hes got a mean free kick in him.

Bullard should only be paid on a pay as you play deal.

Yes, but a whole lot of them are a similar type of midfielder. We have a barrowload of energetic bustling midfielders - Maloney McGinn Ledley Brown Juarez Forrest. A couple of composed passing midfielders - Ki Crosas. And one mercurial genius - Paddy - who's got all the fitness of yer mate's granny.

We have no real creative midfielder capable of pulling the strings, fashioning goals from nothing - in the way that Naka or Lubo was.

Of all the players we've been linked with, Bullard comes closest to this, and I think we still have decent hopes that he will eventually tell his agent the crazy wage demands are getting him nowhere, and he wants to put pen to paper.

What about the wee fella Zemmama from Hibs? He always gave us a lot of trouble in the free-role for them. Less injury prone than Bullard and * of a lot cheaper so wouldn't be as much of a BIG gamble.

I hope we don't get Bullard. Another greedy individual who is just chasing the shekels, in other words a mercenary.A wax faced , long haired court jester of a player with legs like matchsticks. No thanks :bbpd:
