Its GS fault for there lack of enery and fitness he "trains" the team and is suppose to "motivates" them

Well Miller has done nothing to improve my opinion of him... And nice to hear Freddy Adu saying Celtic are "one of Europes best teams" quote!

Adu is NOT their key player. He may be the one everyone knows, but that doesn't make him key. Moreno didn't play, and he is the key to the offense. DC left about 4 of their normal starters out of the game. That says everything you need to know

I think it would be a good game. Celtic would probably win, but it wound not be a blow out like yesterdays match was.

An American who gets sick and tired of other Americans bad mouthing our league and teams. I absolutely hate DC but they are a class team with class support. They would be a UEFA Cup team in the SPL, IMO. Probably finish just outside of the Old Firm and Hearts.

I do follow Celtic a bit as my Scottish grandfather instilled it in me at a young age. I don't go out of my way to watch Celtic play but I keep up on results and what not.

I actually do support DC United when they're playing anyone but Celtic, but last night they weren't, and I just expected more of a game. You know, a chance to say to all my American friends who know nothing bout Celtic, "see, they are a great team and fun to watch," which normally they are. But we didn't really get to see that last night. I wasn't badmouthing MLS at all though, we need it and it is getting better. I was just disappointed with how Celtic played and upset at the attitude of some DC fans. Support US soccer all the way, but just don't go talking smack after beating a good European team in a pre-season friendly.

Thanks for the welcome. I think Shaydee misunderstood what I was getting at, but I appreciate the nod.

that's nice, but unlike you, a lot of us (frankly most of my supporters group) are from other countries and grew up with Eu/SA teams we supported. We just choose to support US soccer and our local side now that we live in DC area.

DC reserves that played in second half and scored last goal are paid $175K a year all together (and goalie gets 100K). Whole DC is around 2 million, since MLS has salary cap to keep somewhat even ground and prevent 2-3 teams from buying all the players and making super teams like elsewhere.

Anyway here's highlights video since other one got pulled.

As a Celtic and Dc United fan, I gotta misquote, and say that "it was the best of nights, it was the worst of nights"

In perspective, this was a celtic that was mildly interested in playing vs. a leading US side that was pumped to play the Bhoys.

After considering it for sometime, IMO this was about the best result that could have happned. Because changes that need to be made are forced by results like this. Who gives a F about this game if the Bhoys improve form and defend the cup...?

Well, the fans of DC United obviously do. When you are in a ten year old leauge, that no one respects, then results like this are real important. So I guess if my Bhoys are better learning from this, and my United gains a better rep internationally, then in the long run it's all good.

DC United sucked * in their international friendlies against some spanish sides too, but they pulled things together and have been having a great season, so hopefully my favorite international team follows the path of my favorite domestic side.

Hopefully DC United can travel to Parkhead for a future rematch, that would be great to see. Another hope is that Celtic might mine some of the US talent that is over here, and is cheap.

    SAV.

Oh, BTW, the drum that the mike so annoyingly picked up for the audiocast belonged to a DC United supporters club, La Barra Brava

What the mike didn't pick up were the chants and songs that went along with it. so it sounded like some tard just pounding on his drum all game for no reason.
