On another thread (team of the decade) I was thinking about outstanding Celtic midfielders. This jogged my memory back to games where those midfielders really delivered. For us, the hardest place to get a result in Scottish football has always been Ibrox IMO. So it brought me to the question, which game v Rangers at Ibrox has been the most enjoyable and why?

Some may remember the 4-4 and 3-3 classics or the New Year's Victory when Charlie and the Maestro scored. Then there was Lubo's double and Henke's 50th goal in a 3-0 drubbing and Jinky's double when we clinched the 67 title. I really am struggling to select the game I most enjoyed.

Fellow Celtic fans, thoughts and glittering memories please.

One of my faves as we truly humbled the currants. Also Lennon's tackle on Amaruso in the second half was stuff of legend. Hard but fair, Lenny won the ball and Amaruso (who was a bullying type) got his just desserts.

Winning the reserve cup 6-1 with the Quality St Kids at Ibrox after gubbing them 7-1 in the first game at Celtic Park the week before.
    13-2 on aggregate.
10000 of us singing and dancing in the old stand and enclosure.
And no orcs to be seen.

    Magic moments.

I'm going green with envy, I wish I'd been there.

Amazing crowd for a reserve game.

The first game was Alan Stubbs last second equaliser to salvage a point for the Hoops - Marco Negri having given Rangers a lead with only 20 minutes left on the clock. Stubbs' goal would be a major turning point of the season. With one header, a six point deficit was slashed in half - a vital moment in a league title race that would go right down to the last game of the season, that goal was crucial when it came down to stopping 10 and of course the legendary 'smell the glove campaign.

we went on to win the title and one of the most enjoyable and turning points in our last decade of success was down to the point we win the title that day .

Don't forget we won 1-0 when Zurawski scored the winner at Ibrox in 2006.

Thinking back on that night, maybe 1971/72 time period, left the house with about 12p in todays money, got an old 4 bus back ender and a lift over into the main stand.
    Don,t tell anybody on here.
Same atmosphere at the under 19s final this May only with 10 times the team.

    Nearly 40 years apart.

ps, children at home shouldn,t try this unless accompanied by an *.
Don,t do what i did, not bothering to tell my elders i,d gone off to an old firm game on my own.

    :52:

You end up with your big sister wandering around the ibrox enclosure looking for you.
Well she should have know i was up above in the old main stand.

    :56:

Hail hail the Celts are here.

I remember getting a lift over as a boy but I was always with my Father, Uncles or Brothers. Must have been funny your sister wandering around Ibrox looking for you amongst a 10,000 crowd.

Just remembered another Ibrox game that was a classic - Jinky's last minute winner (a header!) in a 3-2 League game think in 1972.

Show,d us all behind the goal seconds before Jinky scored.

The Stubbs game was at Parkhead:50: For me it has to be when the SFA tried to * us over big time by making us play less than 48 hours after our semi final in Boavista. They really showed their true colours that day, and yet we still went out and won it:icon_mrgreen: Magic stuff. BBJ and Thommo I think it was that got the goals. 2-1 anyway:celt_2:

"Lennon's freekick. Larsson - into the path of Lubomir Moravcik! He's through - and he's scored! It's one-nil to the Champions, and it's Little Lubo."

"Oh, Moravcik's going to be in again here - where are Rangers? Lubomir Moravcik, is he going to get a second!? You better believe he is! It's a double for Moravcik! And Celtic are heading for their first win over Rangers at Ibrox for six and a half years!"

"Oh, Tugay's fumbled. McNamara slips it through - Henrik Larsson's around the keeper! The angles a bit acute - but it doesn't matter! He's done it - it's a fabulous 50 goals in a season for Henrik Larsson! And that is the perfect end, to a perfect day, in a perfect season."

Seriously, look at that angle. Any other striker in the world at that moment misses. Not our Henrik :shamrock:.

4-2 last game of the season at Ibrox in 1983 was a day I'll nver forget.

We had to win and Dundee Utd had to lose to give us the title.

We were 2-0 down at HT - through two jammy Rangers deflected goals. Yet we came out and smashed 4 past McCloy to win 4-2.

Charlie netter two pens, McGarvey scored a great header and McAdam got the other.

The fans that day were epic and though we lost the title (Utd won their game) it was a truly great Celtic performance in the second half with vintage performances from our big guns - McGarvey, Provan, Aitken, McStay, McLeod and Nicholas.
