TBH not one of Aberdeens players past with any marks last season so im just gonna wait till he's playing in the hoops before I judge him.

How many bog standard SPL players have we signed in the last ten years?

How many actually work out to be good signings?

We need much, much better than Mulgrew, even for a squad player.

I have to say I agree with a lot of the Aberdeen fans views on Charlie Mulgrew. The bhoy can take a good free-kick yes but as a defender? Nah I'm not a fan. I want Lee Wallace at Celtic, he's twice the player Charlie Mulgrew is.

PS. I was also interested to read a couple of their thoughts on Nakamura. I have to say I agreed with them too.

Sound bitter to the core TBH. I know a few Aberdeen fans who rated him.

Have we resorted to listening to Aberdeen fans for a view on a player now?

Watch some Scottish football and make up your own mind. Jesus Christ.

The point is, I've watched Mulgrew myself and reached many of the same conclusions they have. They don't rate the guy's defending and I don't either.

And? I've watched him week in and week out since he was 14, my opinion shouldn't be taken on board as gospel either.

That's fair enough, wasn't aimed at anyone in particular.

I find it a bit shocking the amount of people that would want Lee Wallace over him tbh. Lee Wallace is a bigger ned than Derek Riordan, absolute * that would fit in perfectly at the huns. Not here.

I've heard a few less than impressive stories about Lee Wallace myself but as long as he's doing the business on the park then I really don't care that much what he gets up to on a Saturday night.

    I agree totally.

I'm sure most people remember the game two seasons ago when he scored twice at Parkhead and it looked like Aberdeen were going to beat us.

Then we scored two and Mulgrew was badly at fault for at least one of them.

    Sums him up I'd say.

It's funny you mention Nakamura - if all Mulgrew has a decent left foot and good set pieces, we'd be as well getting Naka back!

Mulgrew is going to give us a lot of height and presence at the back, and if Cha Du Ri slots in at right back, then that's another six footer there, so all in all our backline is going to be considerably beefed up, as Sol Campbell, Thomas Rogne, Joos Hooiveld, Glen Loovens, Josh Thompson, Stephen McManus and Glenn Loovens are all big blokes too ( Can't see us keeping all these centre backs on the books ).

Not on par with the big names we are being linked with but a decent signing, squad player at most hopefully.

I'd still hope we're planning on bringing in another LB, my choice would be Dixon.

Lenny has said we are bringing in another left back. Paul Dixon is a very good player.
