I think it's the biggest season for ages for Celtic, not just attempting to stop Rangers getting 3 in a row but the fact that only 1 CL spot is up for grabs next year. (Think I have that right, someone today said it was starting the season after next)

In that case, I believe the team that wins the title next season could really have the chance to dominate because the team that misses out next year, loses the vital CL money which could really harm the team. Should we go on to win the title next season Rangers finances could be even further harmed giving us the perfect chance to go on our own title run.

Am I wrong in thinking next season could be one of the most important seasons in recent years? I really think it is, if we get some quality signed we have every chance of doing really well next season but only if Lenny brings the right players in, I dont think Darly Murphy is the signing any of us wanted to see, hopefully he is just cover and we will see much bigger and more exciting prospects to look forward to once they are signed.

I think Lenny will bring in someone that will put bums on seats, I honestly think that he will sign a huge player which will excite us.

Lets forget last season, lets wipe the floor with the huns this season and bring the dark days to Rangers!!! :47:

It's the biggest season since 97-98 in my view.
With the news that Murray is holding on to the Huns, we've got to take advantage. They are skint so can't see them making any significant signings. If lenny makes the right moves we should wipe the floor with them and put another nail in their coffin. Not too bothered about the champions league- this season is all about putting these debt ridden Huns in their place.

I think it is important but not really because of the champions league. Sounds pessimistic but there is a possibility of not playing in the champions league for quite some time, league win or not.

It is just as important as the last two campaigns, and we can't afford any more balls up this time. Even with all Mowbray's * ups we still finished just six points behind Rangers last year. So we just have to steady the ship, sign players who fit immediately into our set up, and have a sound tactical system which can be tweaked at any time throughout a match to suit the circumstances. Football is in fact a very simple game. Stick the ball in your opponent's net more times than they do ours.We shouldn't over complicate matters.

It is really all about team spirit and having a never say die mentality. If Lenny can ingratiate that mindset into the team, then we will become a very formidable outfit indeed.

Very important although the season we were 7 points clear at xmas and should have signed a striker is probably more important. Imagine the huns now if we would have won it that year. This coming season we HAVE to win the league and we will.

Important? It's more than that. It is VITAL! If we do not win the league, then we truely are in a crisis. I won't see anyway of turning it around for a while.

But, i know Lennon will get things done!

Next season is an extremely important season for us, goes without saying. For this reason, the club, lennon and the players need all the support they can get, even if the chips are down:50:

Celtic can dominate scottish football for many years if they seize the oppertunity that has been put in front of them.

Major investment or spending is not required, however releasing 10-15m to sign 3 good players and a few bosmans/free transfer/loans is required.

If the board invested or pushed the boat out a bit, we would of won the last 2 league titles and where would that of left rangers now? A further 30-40m in debt and facing extinction, thats where!

We cannot talk about what ifs though?

What we could have, should have done? This is now and now we need to go and give it everything we have and bring that title back where it belongs!!

    Hail Hail..:shamrock:

ALMOST as important as 97-98. But that's not because the 2000's have been a particularly bad time to be a Celtic supporter. Rangers haven't had 9 in a row yet.. haha. I think this has been a great time to support Celtic. Great players, good appearances in Europe, UEFA Cup Final, lots of domestic silverware.. The last two years has been a slump, but overall its been a great time to support Celtic. But the fans are getting restless again, some are even talking about how we're going back to the 90s in terms of quality and management and so on. We just need a really good season to get things rocking at Celtic Park again, stop three in a row, have some good European games, if not any major european achievement. And bring back the enthusiasm and singing with the fans... It was breaks my heart to see an near-empty Celtic Park at the end of any season..

people are saying even if we do win the league we may not see the champs league for some time, how is that? since if we win the league we got into the champions side of the draw and do we not play the champions from places like hungary etc..?

I just hope the coming year is not that vital tbh, because we are going into it with a totally inexperienced manager, while our main rivals have a shrewd and highly seasoned auld * at the helm.

I'm not a prophet-of-doom type - quite the opposite! - but if I'm being honest, this is the least optimistic I have felt about any campaign since we ditched Barnes.

I still think we'll win the league, because Rangers' squad is utter pish, but I'm not as confident as I usually am...

Hah thing thats going to hurt them most is the loss of the "penalty kicker", Boydie... :bbpd:

We'll deffo win the league if we can just sign a few good players...

I think what is important is not to underestimate Rangers, even with their last setback they have a very good experienced manager who knows how to win the spl, we on the other hand have a rookie manager with very little experience. We need to sign warriors, we dont need the likes of Crosas and N'geumo in our midfield, we need people that are big, strong and will drive forward from midfield. Rangers have very few techincally good players in their team, Davis and thats it, you dont need to be Xavi in midfield in the spl, just determined, dirty and give 100% every game. This is the season we need our leaders to step up to the plate, if they all still here which is unlikely we need Boruc putting in consistent good performances, we need McGeady to stand up and be counted in the big games, we need Brown to be the leader on the pitch and get back to the form of his first season with us. It is make or break as far as them players or concerned, I cant see any manager keeping any of them next season if they dont improve. Last season we dropped far too many points on the road, that must also improve if we want the title back.

We have been given another chance to bury them with their lack of investment. I hope we take it.
