    FRUSTRATION IS GETTING TO ME.

Everyday I am checking for news on celtic and keep hitting a brick wall.

    Theres f all happening.

After lennys appointment and lawwels comments . I expected signings within days. I thought signings were just waiting in the wings for the manager to be made officail i.e I expected Bullard and Campbell to come on board immediately.

There is also no news on backroom staff.

I know what you guys are going to say chill out.

I am just a bit excited about next season.

What comments led you to expect signings within days?

Sack him lol!!! ken its frustrating bud but things will develop after the world cup. This is also the time were most players are on holiday so give it time, like you im excited but lets give him space. Lets go about our business quietly and let those * across the city get all the attention for now.

i was worried but then i remembered that the league doesn't start for 9 weeks and the players aren't even back for 2 weeks:31: Calm down and chillax

We will sign players when we are ready to do so and there is definately no need to rush and panic buy, especially after January. I recommend you stop believeing everything thst is said in the press - no one from the club has said anyhing about signing anyone straight away

campbell said he was just waiting for the manager situation to get sorted at celtic and lawwell suggested at a fan meeting something big was going to happen ( he must of meant leeny appointment but that was expected . I thoght he meant something else as many of us did)

I dont beleive the press mate . Lenny said he has made major in roads on signings and lawwel build something up that as yet to happen ( or has it lennys appointment )

Campbell did say he was just waiting for the manger role to get sorted.

    Ther r all fact

doesn't matter what Campbell says - the club isn't saying anything. Campbell could be trying to hurry up a deal at another club by using Celtic's name etc.

Something big might yet happen - after all there is still 2 and a half months left of the transfer window

I highly doubt we will make any major changes until after the World Cup as Lennon will want to actually see potential signings play club football and friendlies before he makes a decision, and that won't be happening for a while yet.

I know some of you lads are getting excited and agitated about who we are going to sign and when they are going to arrive but we don't need several threads all expressing the same feeling. Try and use this thread to discuss the lack of transfer activity etc....... :50:

Spot on Markybhoy99, I am both excited and very agitated. I like many others on this forum expected a couple of signings to be named relatively quickly as it was insinuated that on Lenny's appointment we had a couple of decent signings lined up - but I suppose it was just insinuation.

I'm agitated at the fact we were linked with Keane, Bellamy, Bullard and Campbell and now we are linked with Mulgrew, a Sunderland reject that can't hit a barn door et al.

Anyway, off now to take a valium now, chillax (as someone posted earlier), and wait for the 4 MAJOR signings that I know will come. :56:

If Lennon is going to wait to see guys play for their clubs then we're in a right state as that won't happen for weeks yet. I think he might just have spent the final weeks of the season identifying and then looking at some potential targets, don't you?

The problem once again is that we have a board who aren't prepared to splash the cash required to bring better players in.

The SPL hasn't got what it takes to attract players so we need to offer them MUCH better wages than they can get elsewhere for them to consider us.

For example, Joe Ledley can probably get about £20,000 a week in the EPL with the likes of Stoke.

We should offer him £1 million to sign and then £30,000 a week. Over a four year deal that comes to a total of £7.2 million as there is no transfer fee.

If we buy someone in at £1.5 million with perhaps £250,000 to sign on and pay them £17,000 a week, then over four years this comes to £5.2 million.

Over 4 years that is only an extra £500k a year and we would be getting a much better player, with a considerable sell on value if we chose to move him on after say three years.

I just can't understand why the board don't think like this.

The Ledley talks are ongoing. From what I have heard he has been to Lennoxtown for a look around. It keeps getting mentioned that Stoke are in talks also but I doubt this as even though he is out of contract, Cardiff rejected a bid of £7mil in Jan for him from Stoke so that would probably make any compensation very high and maybe out of Stokes price range. The word on the street is that we have offered him £25k per week.

Campbell on the other hand is as good as done. Thommo let slip in a tv interview today that he is living next door to him so make of that as you will.

Lawrence-from what I hear he is looking £25k per week. Im sorry but he is not worth that and if he is desperate to play for us as he keeps saying he will lower his demands.

Daryl Murphy- I hate all the negative talk about this guy. He scored quite a few goals on loan at Ipswich and they were very poor and the Championship is of a higher standard than the SPL. This guy is happy to take a pay cut to come to Celtic and IMO would be a far better tall outlet than that of Samaras. Murphy would stay in the box and score a large amount of goals. But for me he will prob be the 3rd striker and we maybe do have that exciting signing waiting to be finalised.

Please be patient. There is no business being done at the minute. With the World Cup on and players on Holiday.

How someone can say why would Lenny and Peter Lawell go on Hols now of all times. Well how dare they go on Summer Hols during the Summer. When do you want them to go? August? They have gone at just the right time for me. Then they will come back a couple of weeks before window opens. Confirm some signings just in time for them to join up with pre-season training with the rest of the squad.

Good move by the Management and the Board

Lets hope for an awesome season

    Hail Hail

As someone who has always seen myself as a really positive thinking/doing guy, I can't help but admire some of my fellow Tims on here:notworthy
The support for Lenny, Thommo, Johan and full of expectations of major signings etc!
I suppose the main reason I'm not agitated or worried about any MAJOR signing happening is because I'm not expecting us to sign anybody I would consider to be "major".:54:

A major signing for me would be a Keane or a Bellamy, players of that standard. I don't think it will happen and anyone of a lesser standard won't excite me at all. As for the management team? Guy's I have plenty of admiration for but of whom I am not expecting too much, at least this season. Can't wait for the season to start though.
