get him in now lennon and slaven also, he looks very promising very direct lots of tricks and can score goals from midfield, get these 2 players, in, david james, sol campbell and sell mc geady, 10 to 12 million and possibly finance deal for bellamy and we have one * of a team, exciting solid and fast pace with du ri and juarez, very exciting times, and fingers cross they get these 4 players in and we are laughing all the way to the bank unlike rangers who are crying all the way to the bank ha ha hail hail in lennon we trust

I think a fully fit maloney is a better player than mcgeady in the fact that maloney looks for other players and puts a decent ball in where as mcgeady tries to beat to many players and can't put a decent ball in

agree with you but just maloney is hardly ever fully fit

 

I know ihope he has been training well and stays fit it will be like a new signing

 

i'm the same but just feel like we'll be saying the same things about maloney before every season but i do like wee shaun and hope he can get that bit of luck he needs

Mcgeady Is valued at 10m and maloney is valued at 1m (when he was fit!) so how is he twice the player aiden is? :bbpd:

 

Agree, as far as individual ability goes aidens far superior imo.

Maloney is nowhere near as fast as as McGeady.

McGeadys pace and his couple of wee tricks probably bump his value up tenfold. AND whats to say he is a £10M rated player, just because that's how much we value him and what Celtic would accept as an offer?

by that logic, Boruc is just under a third the player Fortune is, Samaras is twice the player that Mcdonald is, and Chris Sutton was about 10x the player Larsson was.

To recoup; a players price doesnt neccesarily reflect on how good a player he is.

maloney is a far better player than mgeady. maloney ticks far more boxes than mgeady ever will. question marks over his fitness but has had a good pre season and should be fresh after missing most of last season. sell mgeady and finance another 3 good players and we will have not too bad a 1st 11 to put out

 

Maloney is a better dribbler.

Has a better shot in both feet.

Is more consistent when he's in the team.

Is a better header of the ball.

Is just as fast.

Is better at free kicks.

Is a better team player.

Has a much better final ball.

Is an all round better player.

But he does tend to be injury prone.

A fit Maloney is far better than a fit McGeady.

 

I don't think ive ever seen Liam Lawrence play. Worth spending money on or keep our wide options as they are now? (if McGeady leaves).

 

If Aiden McGeady was English he'd be worth £30m. James Milner is going for £30m and I consider him to be a good but pretty unspectacular talent. Whereas McGeady has rinsed the likes of Puyol, Nesta, Maldini etc. I think the English media has successfully brainwashed us into completely dismissing the value of our own highly talented players.
£10 million is a bargain.
