He played far more games after january than the one he was on the bench.

You'd sell the only fit striker we had in January for a bit of cash and risk the league which was worth about 12M in revenue and the ability to attract players from CL matches?

I'd be far from comfortable going into next season with Miller, Magic, Beattie and Riordan personally. I do think we need another physical option upfront and much as i like Beattie i would find it hard to imagine he'll get 25 goals next season, Magic will no longer be an unknown quantity so may find it harder too. I think Rangers and Hearts will have a physical edge and over the last 6 years that has been vital in the SPL.

am sorry correct me if im wrong............but did we not buy PAUL TELFER for something in the region of 750,000.............. so we are selling Hartson - our top goal scorer - for LESS than TELFER was valued at? theres somethin grossly wrong right there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it was £200,000 for Telfer, still sounds bad though but i believe this transfer is about the high wages and the board dont think Hartson would take a significant wage drop.

Hartson agent has hinted at rejecting Brom's offer. Hmmmmm

I think the bid was accepted in a way of alerting Pompey and a few others that he's up for sale at the right price. We may yet get £1mill for him

music to my ear's i can't wait to see John Hartson out of celtic at least clubs ares till willin to offer money for him, i don't like him for many reasons
    1) he is too lazy
    2) he is too fat
    3) he hardly ever runs

if he goes then good if he don't then he will only be there for another season so what ever happens i only have to see him for another season at the most

Maybe he is too lazy can't run and had the one pie too many but he still scores goals, and untill a better replacement can be found then he fits into my team. :shamrock:

What about taking years to secure Jankie McNamara??

You are right, happens all the time, but not for 500k, and definitely not for a a player that gave his all for the team AND WANTS TO STAY, and has been a great servant being in the fame hall and scoring over 100 goals

And save for what? Why do we want the money if we are going to get no replacement?

And even if Miller and Riordan are young and faster, and even if they are on lesser wages, Hartson has more Champions League experience than the youngsters, which will be vital.
