Is Iker Casillas really Spain's no.1?

The key word mate, i think La Liga * all over the EPL but its all about opinions :icon_mrgreen:

 

I would go with Casillas just with Valdes pushing him hard. Valdes has come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of years! Reina would be 3rd with Diego Lopez 4th choice. Almunia is baws Sergio Asenjo is a better keepr than him!

 

oh hes good at crosses , casillas , valdes , palop are all good at crosses what makes reina any better ?and what experts recognise him as the best in the EPL let me guess alan hanson , mark lawerson.
Shay givens far better than any other keeper in that league including riena,VDS and cech .
VDS went 14 games last season without conceding a goal which was a record but i wouldn't say he's the best .

 

It's strange because I think Spain have the best team in the world in Barcelona but the EPL seems to be a bit more exciting and more decent teams. This is the first year in years that there's not been an english team in the semi final of the champions league, so maybe the EPL is on the decline.

 

Andy Gray bluenose is 1,paul merson arsenal fan is 2,Chris waddle is 3. Reina has being far better than given this season. Reina is a more round goalkeeper than given.

I don't have a gripe about anything. Those pundits i mentioned have called reina the best in the league. If you choose to not believe that fine.

 

Spain are blessed with a crop of world class keepers.

Truth is you could substitute any of the top 4-5 and not really weaken the national team. They would all get a game for almost every other country in the world IMO too.

 

You two are changing every thread into Utd vs Liverpool.

he gets no recognition at fiorentina because he plays for sevilla

on topic i would say casillas is spains number 1

I think it's a tough one between reina and casillas , the other 2 for me don't get a look in

 

Casillas, who for me is only behind Julio Cesar in world terms.

Valdes has improved unbelievably over the last couple of years, going from a bit of a liability and unquestionably the teams weak link to one of their strongest. He has the best record in La Liga in terms of clean sheets, but you need to look at the 4 in front of him who take some of the credit for that too.

Reina is the best keeper in the Premiership in my opinion, and for my money there isn't much (if anything) between him and Valdes.

Almunia is shocking, I'm not sure why he was ever mentioned.

You could also talk about Palop, Asenjo etc, Spain have some excellent goalkeepers.

 

Casillas is the best goalkeeper of all time.

However on this season's form Victor Valdes is the world's best keeper, not even got 1 cap as well.

 

I'm sure you'll have a hard time convincing people of that one. I wouldn't say he's as good as either Peter Schmeichel, Buffon or Kahn, and that's only the last 15 years.

 

agree , for me smhiecheil was the best ever , i havent seen as much of kahn or buffon regularly so for me smhiecheil consistently amazing , currently Lloris is the best imo

 

The best keeper of all time was Ray Clemence.

 

Not the greatest of all time but Chilavert would be on the list anyway.
