Are some of you SERIOUSLY telling me you rate Wilson above Hinkel???

I'm almost lost for words if you are...OK Hinkel has some defensive positional frailties but he is the best crosser of the ball at the club, he is strong in the tackle and is great bombing forward. I've see nothing from Wilson to suggest he deserves the jersey more.

    Hinkel MUST STAY/PLAY!!!

hinkle is good going forward, his defensive positioning is shocking, wilson is way better at the defensive side of things, really think lennon played him so we could keep it wee bit tighter at the back.

I would have Hinkel over Wilson anyday. Do not rate Wilson one bit never have. Our best/most consistent player this season by a mile.

Leaving out Hinkel did surprise me as well. As bad as we have been this season he has for the most part been one of the few players in the team who has had anything like a decent season performance wise.

Hinkel is yet another imposter. Can't believe there are so many that are happy with our most consistant defender. The guy can't even defend. Remember what we're getting for our money

This statement is simply ridiculous on so many levels.

I really hope that we are all reading more into his absence more than there actually is, and that he will be back in on the weekend.

Hinkel has been our POTY by a country mile, and indeed has been a consistant performer since his arrival yet prior to this season perhaps was not fully appreciated, especially when going forward.

    How many levels are there?

Right enough, he's been great the season. his marking at the back post is second to none.

I suppose if I dare question what we're really getting from Hinkel then I must be ridiculous.

Ooft, too many levels. Let's just say more levels than World of Warcraft.

What makes you think yet another imposter? He's among best five players this season. Doesn't say much, I know, but he's proven quality. He can hit consistent run and keep it up pretty much better than anyone except Keane.

The fact you're looking at his defensive ability ONLY is making statement ridiculous. How about his assists? How about his forward runs and supporting wingers? Defensive ability is not the best, that's quite obvious. But then again he's the best RB in the club by a * mile and the best RB in Scotland. Even further down south you won't find so many better players in his position.

Yes, he is prone to mistakes in the back and that's his major (and pretty much only) flaw. There are other aspects affecting it, like wingers not tracking back, not getting support from midfield etc.

I just don't want to see the day when he leaves, people don't realize how much he means to us. But then again, once he leaves, we'll leave ourselves with Caddis and Wilson to compete for RB spot. Awesome, isn't it?

He is in a different league from Wilson and Caddis. Folk will realise that when that is what we're left with. They're both benefiting from the 'he's not playing ergo he must be the answer' syndrome.

Honestly people would complain if we had A.Cole as our RB

Hinkel is a better right back than Wilson and Caddis imo but after Saturday, nobody deserved to hold onto their place but you have to pick the best team you can. So whats one to do in this situation!

I dont know why Lennon dropped him but I'd definitely love to hear his reasons but I wouldnt expect a sensationalist reasoning from Lennon, so far he has put himself across to media and fans very well and I dont see any reason to why this wouldnt continue.

I doubt that Hinkel has throw a hissy fit either, nobody at Celtic can demand a place in the team at the moment, it would be surprising to say the least!

I know there's been shouts on here in the past for Hinkel to get the captaincy and I think the thought must have occurred to managers also , but maybe it's just not in his personality to be the one dictating to other players so it's never come to fruition and it could also be that his demeanour comes across as someone who goes into his shell on the pitch at times.. Possibly that is something being held against him at the moment..

On the captaincy , Brown rightly takes stick at times and I watched the teams lining up to come out the tunnel , and while I've a touch of sympathy for Brown getting the captaincy (from the point of view that he definately isn't upto it) his rallying cry of "Come on boys , come on" sounded like one of the most half hearted shouts I've ever heard from a footballer leading a team..

wilsons crossing at the weekend was horrible, there was one point no pressure at al and he crossed it to noone leaving it to roll out, hinkel is by far our best rb
