He was a headless chicken, do you remember playing Man United and the mistakes he made that night. I even remember woeful performances from him against Livingston in the Cup and I remember Strachan roaring at him because he wouldnt stick to the game plan and Livi were getting chances because of him.

He had talent but I think he was past his best and was loosing motivation because he was financially set and he had a * star wife at home. Why would you listen a ginger midget with that going on? :56:

Some people are gluttons for punishment. 2003 is when I became a Celtic fan. 2002 (USA getting kicked out of the WC in cruel circumstances) is what cemented me being a US National team fan and that hit new heights this past summer when we lost in the Confed Cup final to Brazil after going up 2-0. Also, this season has gotten me closer to Celtic than I have been despite the record. Something must be wrong with me! :56:

We would have walked it imo, Samaras McDonald & Hesselink were shocking at times last season

Samaras & Hesselink certainly were. To be fair to McDonald he was having to carry the goalscoring burden for almost half the season. Not an easy job.

 You mentioned how people worship MON for 2003, I mentioned that people like the tragic hero thing. That clue enough?

Strachan - Did quite well. Took the team as far as he could. His time came and went.
A lot of people have been stoking up the 'i told you so' attitude with Strachan. fact is Strachan was a PR nightmare.

I was at Old Trafford that night and yes he had a stinker. I think a lot of fans never forgave him after it.

I still think there was something there and had we stuck with him he could have been great for us.

Remember his man of the match debut at pittodrie? The way he bossed the old firm game at Parkhead and the hat-trick at love street?

From January to May that season (2006-07), we had a CM of Hartley/Lennon that contributed zero goals and was absolutely pathetic, contributing to 2 of the worst old firm performances I have ever witnessed and a pathetic cup final performance when we scraped past relegated Dunfermline.

All that time Gravesen warmed up next to the fans waiting for his chance and never once complained to the press.

Dunno, I really think we pulled the trigger too early.

I don't see the contradiction in looking back at 2002/2003 as an amazing season. We reached a European Final, something that nobody in their wildest fantasies saw coming, and that is why people were so blown away by it.

Ok so we ended up with no silverware but I will always look back fondly on that season because there were some amazing nights and amazing matches along the way.

Not me im afraid ,the mighty MON that season won nothing and thats what i base my thoughts on managers that manage Celtic ,i remember it well on that Wednesday night against Porto and came away feeling cheated ,sad but proud to be a Celtic fan ,but the day the league went i felt anger towards O'Neil in the way he played that game against Motherwell ,so worship nah not my style .

Maybe WGS should have kept fernandes and teamed him up with Gravesen for a dream midfield. Then signed Ross Jack and the Champions League was within our grasp.
