We don't owe Mogga anything. If anything, it's Mogga that owes us something.

He should be given the chance to give us something, half a season isn't enough to judge ANY manager. (I say half a season because people were calling for his head before xmas)

Until he gives us something, we shouldn't be asked to give him anything.

I'm not calling for his head just yet, but I am not about to go and give him my loyalty.

If he's manager next year and this continues, I will still be against him, and I will also want him out.

If he's manager next year and he gives us something to be happy about, then I will give him some loyalty.

It's a give and take for me.

It appears that we have some Celtic fans who have long term planning with short term thinking syndrome.
This is a nasty condition that causes panic, uncontrollable sweats and bouts of anger.
SERIOUSLY do you think Mogga isn't aware of the crap that is hailing down from the terraces and the echoes of empty seats??
If it is true that he offered to relinquish his post after the defeat to Dundee Utd then fair play to him, but I don't know about you; I'm in it for the long haul where I can sit and watch the Blue Meanies suffer and wilt REGARDLESS of this seasons results and outcome.
We needed change and we got it and to be honest I'm pretty confident of the future.
You may call me dillusional or a borne optimist, but I am what I am.
Get behind the team and the manager that's all I'll say.

all the pro mowbray fans should read the posts from forum member swiss who is a wba fan. he has stated that celtic are having the same defence probs that they had.
they all thought at first they were unlucky and they would come through it, but in the end sussed out that it was the style that they were being asked to play by mowbray and venus. he went on to say that if we want to see nice attacking football all the time then we have the right man, however if we want to win the league and cups then we have the wrong man and should get rid of him now.

He can't give us something that's near impossible to give. He's re-building a team, this takes time. I know people keep mentioning time, but it's true - we can't build for the future & have instant success.

We shouldn't be asked to give a manager time, who is re-building a Celtic team and planning for long-term success? I beg to differ.

I've a couple of pals who support the Baggies and they ALSO say that if he had the funds, he would have spent on better defenders to compliment his style of play.
I agree that giving Josh Thompson the baptism of fire at 18 is a little too early, but he isn't Rio Ferdinand who had better players in his back pocket at 16. If he was, Celtic wouldn't be anywhere near him.
Quality counts and Josh Thompson WILL BE A LEGEND at this club if he's allowed to develop.
Once he gets Hooiveld and Loovens (his obvious back four pairing) playing and forming a decent partnership , we can judge then, but like all things, you can't predict the future or that Rangers may recover from financial meltdown.

I'm not asking him to give us the league this year. I said this before - I'm not calling for his head this season. I understand the situation he's in, but I'm not impressed by him either.

If this continues into next season, when the re-building (remember, Mowbray asked for 3 transfer windows for re-building) is over, I will be calling for his head. Until then, my judgement is reserved to him not being the greatest of managers. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong and gain my loyalty.

With all due respect to Swiss, when WBA got promoted (after they pumped the Championship), they carried on with their same style of play...unfortunatley for them, they were up against Torres, Rooney, Drogba or Defoe every other week. I'm confident, given time, he'll get good enough defenders in who can help romp the league and punch above their weight in Europe.

i think the team would play well in Europe, as there tends to be more room and not forgetting. Celtic playing here has a lot of one game Charlie's, that we have to beat all the time. and thats dose not happen to rangers as i have seen teams play us put in a shift, only to see the same team get mugged with a lesser team the next week Aberdeen now an example

I will state at the outset that whilst I think TM is an honest and honourable man I am not his biggest fan. Like 'swiss' I thought WBA under TM and his 'open football principles' were really great to watch when going forward but shocking when defending and I believe it was the latter that was the main reason they were relegated from the EPL. Now whether he has been shocked by the response he has had from a section of our support or the fact that a number of Celtic supporters cannot use words of more than 4 letters, I don't know, but too often in the pre or post match Press interviews he looks like a boxer who has been on the receiving end of too many punches. He looks deflated and lost for words. He lacks fire. I would love him just for once to come out fighting and say something like ....
'OK the results have been poor, even shocking. Let's look at the last few years. Final of the UEFA Cup and to get there the Club built up a huge debt that took 4/5 years to reduce from mid £20ms to under £1m. During 4 of those years, the wage bill was savagely reduced, the Club won 3:4 SPL titles, got into the last 16 of the Champions League but still a large section of the fan base did not like the way the football was played. So now we come to me. Face it, because of the Club's, correct, policy of not building up a large debt like Portsmouth or Rangers, you are not going to see a Wayne Rooney or a Cesc Fabrigas or a Steven Gerrard in Hoops and you are not going to see a Mourinio or an Alex Ferguson or a Wenger in the dug outs because this is the SPL not the Italian or English Premier Leagues. You have got me and whether it is me or A N Other you want changes to the personnel on the field, have a team that plays great football, wins every game or nearly every game, fills stadiums ... all within a very tight budget and .... all within 6 months. Those that criticise me I say... I am fair game and bring it on. I will carry on and yes, we will lose games but we will win more than we lose. This year the SPL title is probably gone but the experience for me and everyone at the Club who will be here next year ...and I will be here, will ensure that not only will we win the SPL but we will do it in style and will go on to greater things in the years ahead in Europe.'

C'mon TM fight back. Don't let them grind you down. Learn from your experiences at WBA, get that defence sorted and let's have a GLORIOUS FUTURE.

I reckon the board are understanding to what was required with getting dead wood out this year and also understanding to the dissapointing way it hasn't worked out so far with regards to results..
My gut feeling is even if we fail to lift a trophy this season there won't be knee-* changes made , and the fans will all show their resilience , shake of their dissapointment , regroup in the summer and be there on the opening day of next season to cheer on Tony and the boys.. :50:

They bought a centre half that needed a pre season, rushed him in and now he's injured. It's been two years without a decent centre half and they still failed in January, that's my point.

I think if they had got a big stopper in earlier you would have probably got a bit more out of Caldwell. Waiting on Loovens coming back to shore things up does't fill me with confidence.

I do think Hooiveld looks an improvement on what we have though.

You can forget loyalty nowadays, there's no such thing. Club directors, managers, players all have their own agendas, so why shouldn't the supporters. If a player thinks he can make a few quid more than staying with the one club for a lifetime their off, that's his decision, it's his right as an individual to move freely as he see fit.

Supporters are the lifeblood of any club, no supporters, no club. If the majority of Celtic supporters decide that TM is not the man for the job at the end of this season TB will go, Strachan went for this reason, the board sensed the season ticket sales were going to plummet, so WGS was sent on his way with a nice parting bonus to ensure he wouldn't say anything bad about the club and it's directors.

I like TM as a man, I just wished he would show us a bit more passion as a manager. Given time he will get it right, but he needs to be far more ruthless with under-performing players, it's them that will ultimately get him the sack.
