now stop, sammy isn't that bad. he plays very well in big games such as against Dynamo Moscow, and both legs of Harpoel so give the man some credit

Said earlier the guy ain't that bad, yes frustrating but he has scored some decent and important goals for us and doesn't deserve the attitude and behaviour of some fans. Says it all because we draw today all of a sudden it is his fault and not the pish poor defenses fault.
Celtic will never see him play well again with the attitude of some fans which will only demoralize the guy.

    Edit

Good move by Mowbray, put Sammy on to take the * and make it less pressure on him when we * up. They always have Sammy who will take the crap for it lol.

Sammy cant be blamed for today and TM has that faith in his ability by keeping putting him on, someone needs to go make all the individual Defenders hate/they are * threads.

Sammy takes the rap for it yet again.

Wow, slagging a striker for not scoring enough goals when his goal ratio is decent is funny. But slagging him for not defending corners well?? Brilliant! Keep on the good work. I d advise Lawwell and co. to buy 11 strikers for the squad, after all they should be able to do everything.
Next thing i wanna see is some stick for conceding a penalty :56:

On a more serious note, of course i understand that given his height hes supposed to play some role in defensive set pieces. But you cant actually blame a striker for not defending well as much as you cant blame a defender for missing a sitter. The point at the moment is that the TEAM does not perform the way it should be. That's not an individual fault. They all lose, they all win games. But honestly, on a 4-4 draw there's not many things you can blame on the striking force. For one, if the defence hasn't already conceded another 3 goals before that corner, samaras' bad defending would have been of no importance. Hope you get my point and i m not being illogical.

He's been poor the last month or so but he's still a very useful squad player.

He's our top scorer mind, though Fortune is just one behind.

Look I am totally fed up with all these supporters continually backing Samaras, if this guy can't get himself motivated to perform for 90 minutes or 180 per week in front of 50,000 fans at CP what will motivate him.

The only time this guy has tried this season was the three games or so before the Greek squad was named for the World Cup in South Africa, once selected he quickly went back to his old ways. It shows he has the talent, he's just to lazy to display it game after game, I wouldn't care if he never pulled on the Hoops ever again.

A forum's about stating opinions m8, i don't get why you 'd be fed up just because there are people you don't agree with.
Some of us might be paranoid to you, but that doesn't mean you re right and we re wrong.
And the argument about greek squad for the world cup, is totally not right. Samaras was NEVER about to lose his spot for the world cup except if he was injured. I don't know if he had any other motivations to play well in those games, but it certainly was not wc participation.

PS : Although this thread bears the name of samaras, my intention is not to defend him. I m just referring to anything that has to do with him, and that would help Celtic play good football... So my argument is that since hes gonna be in the squad at least until summer, then there's no sense in trying to unsettle him. Supporters just have to be patient. Personally, i dont care if he stays or leaves in the summer, but until then its pointless whining, cause he ll be here.

He is a second class player who has certain games where you could dream he is a world beater...but then that is followed by a game where he gets booed and can't trap the ball or shoot.

I really hope he learns from Keane in training. Keane is someone always waiting to pull the trigger and that is how samaras should be. He needs to work on his shooting and his power in shots.

Sammy will come good in his career at some point but probably back in some league outside the UK , or maybe the English championsip (With Middlesboro in particular)... I think he had more impact on a consistent basis during his loan period and at the start to his first full season than since then.. Good for the occasional goal but a passenger too often.. If playing him at times for the remainder of the season can get his value up to somewhere around £2m , then I'd be happy to see him part for that kind of cash.. Never come close to reaching his potential with us..

he should return to greece. be greeted like a hero and have a better chance of playing well. he just doesn't fit here
