Scott McDonald appreciation thread

Although he was never my favorite player I have to acknowledge his good service to Celtic. He may moan and he may irritate, but he always scored goals and even in big games in Europe and against the huns (something the huns cannot say about Kris Boyd ~ whose scores most of his goals against Falkirik, St. Mirren, St. Johnstone... ).

Well, I'm not going to come on here and pretend I wasn't in favour of Skippy's move.

I've said on several occasions that I felt his glass-half-empty temperament was maybe not what was needed at this time of uncertainty; and I feel that - despite his undoubted talent as a striker - Tony got it right in selling him.

But such questions can be debated endlessly. What is not in question is Scott McDonald's immense contribution to a magnificent SPL comeback-from-the-dead in 2008 that will live long in the memory.

This will be remembered when the rest is forgotten.

Best of luck to the wee man.Will have good memories of many great goals from him. Shall be keeping an eye on middlesborugh to see how he gets on.

2.5 good years for me from McDonald for us at Celtic. A player who not just got to live the dream but did so well and scored a lot of goals for us. I think it was probably good for both sides as McDonald while a very good spl level striker was clearly not the type of player Mowbray was looking for.

Good luck to McDonald at Middlesboro. I hope it proves to be a good move for him. Thank you also for all you did for Celtic. You did us proud during your time at the club. That winner v's AC Milan in the champions league and the double in the crucial 3-2 win over the huns stand out for me.
