What did everyone think of Hooiveld's debut?

Personally i thought he looked solid just the type of player we need a no-nonsense defender who loves to defend.

agreed while accepting it was man utd but i think if you you look at the players tm is bringing in they all look as if they will do a job but need time to all gel together but lots to be optimistic about id say

only had it on the radio but from what was said it was fairly solid debut. No fannying about row z type of guy.
    And Thompson did OK too.

I thought Jos Hooiveld had a very solid and dependable debut, as did big Josh Thompson. The two of them look like giants in our defence now, and they clear their lines without any fannying about.

Just relieved to have got shot of the two Chuckle Brothers :56::56::56:

done well! allowed himself to be turned in the first half by getting too tight to his man but i put it down to a lack of match practice.

but on the whole solid should improve with time.

also was vocal throughout the game and i liked the way he had a word with one or two players goin off at half time to gee them up nguemo in particular

i think we may have a leader at last!

He did a job no question, his first game so took him a while to chill out and go with it but i felt he had a * understanding with Josh Thompson so looks sweet for a future CB pairing.

Given the fact that this was his first competive game since November he did well, nothing flash, kept it reasonably simple. Big Josh is also learning rapidly, okay he's not quite ready for an Old Firm game just yet, but he's getting better with every game.

Could be a real test against Kyle and Salmon at Killie on Tuesday night, however I think they'll both cope well.

I can see him becoming our next captain, watched it on TV and all the time i seen him he was talking and telling team mates what he thought, like at half time walking in tunnel with N'Guemo he was expressing his views in some way.
Hes solid defender and doesnt mind telling people what he thinks.

He looked pretty solid throughout but i think he will get better with more games under a settled defence.

I think Hoovield, the confident outgoing character matched with the young Thompson who wants to do nothing more than get his job done is our best pairing.

cheer up ffs and acknowledge the one good thing that did happen today on the field. the guy was more or less solid. Its not the first time i've read a post from you full of negative drivel.
