what i saw of danny fox in the 23 games he played, selling him was the right decision imo, especially for a profit.moggas already explained that hes having to wheal and deal to strengthening the more critical areas of the team.he knows better than us who will do a job at left back,he works with the players everyday.its a squad game guys!!..just don't see the problem....he can only sell who people are willing to buy.

As others have said a strange one for sure. You wonder are the rumours about him not settling off the field a big part of him moving back south so quickly. In terms of Fox on the field he started off very well but I must admit that was about the sum total of Fox for me in a Celtic shirt. If he was better then Naylor is was pretty marginal in my opinion so I am not bothered by us selling Fox to Burnley. Bottom line for me while I am not excited about our left back options for the rest of this season keeping Fox was not the long term solution to our left back issue for me.

Well i have been waiting for this great left foot to arrive and all i got was two left feet the lad was nothing special,i think Lee Naylor was a better player than him and that is saying something, you can say what you want Lee Naylor had a great first season and what ever reason why Fox is gone, his first 6 months was poor

    cheerio wee man

    Not good enough cheerio - couldn't give a *.

Caddis is better in 2 games & is homegrown.

Jackie Mac was right footed, so was Joos - Papac at Rangers is right footed & has played well there for about 4 years.

I'll be glad to see Caddis in the team at LB - O'Dea is probably better at LB than he is at CB as well.

cant believe we sold him, our defence is the worst part, so we get rid of 3 of them, and bring in 2 unknowns

he was one of our better players and hasnt even been here a year

its only a matter of time until people realise that mogga is an idiot.

This has to be down to fox wanting to leave as he couldnt settle....buy a player and then sell him after 6mnths is rather strange.
Tony needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat soon or celtic are going to lose the league this year(if its not gone already).
And at this rate i doubt we will be in europe next year.
The clock is ticking and tony is on thin ice............

we didn't give him a fair chance and i dont think it is summin you should be doin 3 days before window shuts but if he has a replacement i.e. wallace fair enough now Czabas gone that makes wallace more likely

if this has already been said just disregard it , wot if fox,s deal included a fee of say half a mill once he reached a certain amount of games, we paid wot 1.5 mill so it would be 2 mill then after a few games he wasnt wot mogga wanted so decides to move him on ,he is sold for a profit of 300 000 add the 500 000 it woulda cost to keep playin him ,we have saved 800 000 is it poss this is wot may have happened ,cant think of anything else.

????? seeing as the defence has been terrible surely its a matter of replacing them!?! I think our defence has looked a lot better in the last couple of games and for one am not a tiny bit worried! Hinkel is consitent, Thomson has impressed in his first couple of games, Paul Caddis has been fantastic, O'Dea has had dodgy moments but looked a lot more settled today, and i thought Jos was very composed (a few shaky moments granted) today. The future (and present) looks bright, we have managed to offload a number of terrible defenders and replace them with what looks like great players of a very young age.

Tony has also said a number of times this week that there is still work to be done in the transfer window, and I have every confidence he knows his squad well enough to know what areas need strengthened...

TM has clearly looked at our defence and has replaced an attacking LB with a O'dea . That's so Hinkel can burst forward leaving O'dea to tuck in and help out the CB's as he is naturally one.

i agree. Fox was one of our better players. I understand flogging mcmanus and caldwell, 2 liabilities. Fox has only been at the club for months ffs, and ppl were comparing him to alan thompson weeks back. Its a shocking decision by mowbray. I appreciate him getin rid of the deadwood at the club, but fox was a surprise.

i can't believe so many people feel Fox was good for us. i thought he was most time absolute pish. couldn't take a free kick obviously and i don't remember one one good corner. is the obsession with him because he's left footed? what has he done to contribute to the club at all? i say, if mogga didn't see him in the future of the club and we can make a profit on it, then sell him

I might be putting my neck on the line here by saying this...but what if the Scott Brown story that wacko Jacko was adamant was true, came from young Fox?

Mowbray admitted in an interview that there has to be 100% trust between managers and players etc...who's to say Mowbray didn't plant that wee lie to see if anyone would go to the press with it? If so, it must have been dealt with inhouse (which was the correct thing to do, as I doubt any other team would take someone whom they know can't be trusted).

For whatever reason, there's more than meets the eye here...

Or, I could be totally reading into this too much haha
