AN innocent Asian man was forced off a bus by passengers over fears that he was a suicide bomber - because he had a rucksack and two mobile phones.

Cops swooped on the Megabus coach and ordered the startled lad off for questioning after barmy commuters badgered the driver over "concerns" he was a terrorist.
Last night, the bigots on board were slammed by a horrified fellow passenger, who said: "It's terrible that people are alienated over the colour of their skin.
"I felt so sorry for the bloke because he hadn't done anything wrong. If anyone else had two mobile phones, no one would have bothered."

I'm no racist either, but you can't blame them. Sign of the times, I'm afraid.

A sad indictment of the current age. However, the "PC" world we now live in will ensure that the Muslim community perceive this as being racism, when in fact it's just a handful of *-scared people thinking they are away to get blown up.

How many people do you know who carry 2 mobile phones on them on a regular basis?

    * all that i know, put it that way.

EDIT - Additionally, what would be the preferred option? Someone acting suspicious, but it's a case of "oh, we'd better not do anything just in case......might be construed as racism."

    Wouldn't have thought so.

Feel sorry for the guy, without doubt, as he is completely innocent. However, so were the other passengers on the bus, and is it a realistic notion to risk your own safety purely because you don't want to offend someone with a different skin colour?

Again - wouldn't have thought so.

So because he's a Muslim it's ok to assume that he's a terrorist?

Can our Irish lads be accused of being IRA bombers, then?

Although I can see how it may seem an oddity, there are perfectly legit reasons for carrying two mobiles. Often I have my mobile, plus, when I have been on call, I've been required to keep the work one on hand also.

Bit hard to pass comment on this situation however, as we dont have all the evidence, nor there to see what these passengers saw as being 'suspicious behaviour'.

I was in ASDA a few weeks ago at the main entrance waiting on my missus and two asian men went in to do their shopping. I could overhere the security woman on her walkie talkie saying " 2 ASIANS! 2 ASIANS! " as they walked by. I didn't know whether to laugh or grab the missus and run! That got me thinking is that asda's policy? Or just some paranoid butch woman?

    Shameful.

Totally unjust to treat people like this.

    That's * ridiculous by the way - shocking.:31:

Bob, i hear what you are saying, but (going from what i have read, and not having been there at the time,) it sounds like a member of the public genuinely frightened - at a time when our Government make a HUGE thing about the terrorist threat in this country, which is in itself inciteful in my opinion.

Terrible shame for the guy, but society these days is - in many parts - so absorbed with this big "threat" that they see danger everywhere. The harm (once again in my opinion) does not lie with the scared member of the public, but with the perception of danger society now has; as a result of those in power, and press sensationalism.

Sure we can all go about frightened.
But its not nice nor is it acceptable for another member of public to be challenged on his/her appearances or nationality

It is the faul of the Islamic fundamentalists. They have put the fear of * into people, with all thier rallies, where the swear they will destroy the White Infidel and destroy Britain.
I'm not in the slightest surprised by this and I don't think it will be the last time either.

At the end of the day I would have done the same thing. if it was a white person i wouldn't have been worried because it isn't white people who have been threatening to bomb us for the past decade.

Unfortunately it is a sign of the times and he has only the extremist element in his religion to blame, I'm sure the guy completely understood why the passengers were a little afraid.

It's just the media who sensationalize these things as i'm sure any decent member of the black/muslim community wouldn't have any reservations about what went on.

    Completely disgracefull.

Just because he is Asian does not mean he is Muslim which most people on here are assuming. Being Muslim also does not mean you are a bomber, or indeed sympathetic to their beliefs. It is also not always "Asian" people who try to bomb our country as someone above has said. There was a case not so long ago about a white British teenager tried to blow up a shop after converting to Islam. Point being not every Muslim is a bomber, not every Asain is a Muslim and not every bomber is Asian and Muslim

Correct, but most of us can't distinguish between the different religious groups, that's why all are viewed with suspicion.
