Personally think the board should bring him on loan to the end of the season and get Giroud signed in a deal like Ki's and have him coming at the end of the season . Then if Keane's good, which he will be, then the board will be tempted to push the boat out and even if they dont we still have a striker coming in.

If he is on £50,000 a week then thats about £1 million on wages until the end of the season. We cant definetly afford that (well if there is a decent sum wanted for the loan) .

i expect keane to sign for january. in fact with ki also signing , i think this could be our greatest transfer window in years. i also think we will win the league by 10 plus points.

I dont see the logic in Spurs letting their captain go half way through the season without a big fee to replace him. Not gonna happen, sadly. I would love to be proved wrong though

This resurfaces every six months, it isn't going to happen until it's a Roy Keane cameo for 6 months or a season. We can't afford his wages and while I'd love to see him in the hoops I'd rather sign Giroud who we will have for far more than 6 months or another striker. Loan deals are all well and good but only if we are going to sign the player. With Robbie I can't see this being the case with him having been transferred for 20 and 15 million pounds in the last year and a bit. At the minute he's out of our league money wise unfortunately as he would tear up the SPL.

i would love to see keane come on loan but if we make the deal perminate in the summer it paves the way for mcgeady to leave to fund the transfer but cant see it happing really

    Well here's one who doesn't.

I am sick and tired of people going on about Robbie Keane - the same old * every 6 months for the past ten years. I would be perfectly happy if he disappeared without a trace and we never heard his name again.

His only actual link with Celtic is that, like 4 million other folk, he is Irish.

Robbie Keane is a rich man, and has control over his own actions.
If he wanted to play for Celtic he would already be here.

    Well said :50:

On another note, the quote from Mowbray perhaps tells a story:

"I don't envisage that happening unless certain individuals want to make that commitment."

Is he saying in no uncertain terms that Keane would need to take a cut?

all you children are getting carried away. robbie keane coming to celtic would be a bad thing. apart from ridiculous wages, he would have to replace one of our strikers and do a better job and i dont think he could. getting more players isnt the solution, making the ones that we have play the way they should be is what we need.
