    Id take him when he first went to portsmouth he was dynamite, has faded badly lately but has ridiculous pace and is not really a striker more a wide left player a 6 month loan deal wouldnt be bad business to see if he could reignite his past form.

    been saying we should sign him for over a year now., iactually made a thread on it a few months back. probably the fastest player in the uk , and strong as an ox. he is 27 , and would be a sensation up here , i guarantee it. when he first moved to pompey he was unplayable , and alot of my pompey supporting friends have said he is their most talented player. just hope for all of us this one comes true ..

    Portsmouth's 25-year-old Nigeria striker John Utaka is a target for Celtic manager Tony Mowbray.
    Utaka arrived at Fratton Park from French League side Rennes in 2007 on a four-year deal for a reported £7m.
    Cash-strapped Portsmouth are keen to offload players, although Utaka's wage demands could be a barrier.

    I'll say they're a barrier alright. Utaka is on £80,000 a week at Portsmouth!! I'll be gobsmacked if this is anything more than paper talk.

    We wont sign him cos that would mean the board paying high wages and to be honest they'd rather get us someone like Noel Hunt or Colin Nish and thats probably who we'll end up with.

    I agree on both arguments on this player . He would be a great signing but one other striker needed too a prolific one
