Exactly buddy, if they were going to start deducting points etc. then they would have done it long ago and they would have started at the other side of the city as well.

As far as I am aware, they are only trying to clamp down on songs/chants of a racist/sectarian nature. The rebel song sheet does not fall into that category.

Just talking about that on the Atmosphere thread about the rebels ,and why stewards and police put fans out for singing ,this has to be clarified from someone and us [the fans] know what we can and cant sing.:50:

I could imagine a lot of fans choosing to ignore the clarification as they 'don't like to be told what they can and can't sing'.

In my humble opinion the British army is a terrorist organisation yet the huns left 1200 of them in for free for a CL game. All ye so called celtic fans who dislike rebel songs are PC *.The armed struggle continues REMEMBER YER ROOTS!

Whether you like it or not, some Rangers fans are massive bigots and racists. Better not bother to do anything about it eh

Why am I an '*' if I don't like rebel songs. They've nothing to do with me, I see no real purpose to them tbh. Yet I'm an *.

I don't give a toss about rebels or any of their songs. They've nothing to do with Celtic and they've nothing to do with football.

*. Advocating the continuation of any armed struggle in Ireland is vile.

The question is not if we like them, it's whether or not we should sing them at games.

Fair enough comment mate but you try telling that to the stewards and police who are throwing people out due to this.

The club won't ever 'clarify' what songs are acceptable or unacceptable in the form of an actual list as it will leave them open to too much criticism. There's no way they would be able to ban songs like Boys of the Old Brigade etc as they are valid songs in memory of a recognised nation's struggle for independence. Some people have to remember or at least recognise that Celtic are more than a football club and it is things like our heritage, politics, roots that make us such. There's no way we have fan clubs all over the world purely down to football.

I don't agree with the IRA or any of that, but I think the songs should still be sung, it provides a better atmosphere and some of the songs are good too.

    Wrong.

The fact that they have been sung in the past doesn't automatically justify the singing of them now.

I don't think that we were founded with politics in mind. Charity, faith, football and a social identity yes, but not politics.
