Not unexpected, but a shame none the less. He looked like he had great potential.

such a shame, he had the makings of a real good player for us until that thug did his leg in, one of the few scotland games i've ever been too....never been back since! thats why i hate it when Celtic players get called up for pishy wee internationals such as the one against Wales tommorow!

i doubt JK will be able to get compensation though; it must be awful to have to retire at 25 when if you're fit you'd probably have another 10 years at the top level. hopefully he can stay in football perhaps as a coach or something?

in any case, i'll never forget his performance at the Nou Camp when he and David Marshall wrote themeselves into Celtic folklore; at the very least JK can take that away from a career cruelly cut short.

    Hail Hail John Kennedy!

A real shame for the bhoy, he had a very real chance of being a great player with us or indeed any level of competition.. so cruel for it to end with such an intentional tackle by a little * intent in hurting someone.

Hope he can take solace in the nou camp performance and find strength to do something else he enjoys... hope he gets compensation or at the very least i hope the 'what goes around comes around' saying is true.

    Hail Hail JK. :shamrock:

This is gutting news. Shame but he's best to do it now rather than trying to make a come back and permanently damaging himself...

    All the best John.

Was a long time ago mate. Scotland friendly. The tackle was intended to hurt and thats the hard thing.

Such a shame, even although as the years and surgery went on it was only a matter of time before he reached this decision it is stilly completely sad and gutting.

He had to consider what sort of impact it would have had on his future quality of life if he had tried to continue on, even at a lower level.

It must be so heartbreaking for him and his family to finally know that his dream was cruelly snatched away by a horror tackle in a "friendly"

    Best of luck John :shamrock:

Such sad news at only 26 years old.

Hopefully he can still have some role in football.

Sad news but expected imo. Could have and should have been a great player for us til that thug assaulted him.

The guy that ruined JK career should b * jailed. JK would have been one of the best players at celtic if he had not got that injury. Real shame he has had to cut what looked like a promising career so short

Real shame for the guy. Was going to be something special for us until that awful game.

Hope Celtic stick with him and keep him on in some capacity. Maybe doing some coaching badges or something.

Good luck to him in the future.:shamrock:

Feel really sorry for the big lad. He was living the dream we all wish for, to play for his boyhood heroes and to have it snatched by an absolute animal is disgusting. The boy put his heart and sole into getting fit again. This news for him today must be a crushing blow. I wish the lad well in everything he does.

As for Ganea, the * can only be described as Footballs answer to Sewage! *!:47:
