There both classed as wingers and i only see McGeady running at defenders on the wing ,taking them on one to one ,Maloney very rarely do you see him sizing up a defender as if he is going to run at him and put a cross in ,McGeady does that yes the final ball could be better but thats more like a winger in my book.

I think Moving McGeady to the center instead of the wing would do wonders for him, it would force him to control the ball a little better and shoot more

id have mccourt in ahead of mcgeady. people seem to think mcgeady is the next messi, he cant do *. he skins one player a month and then does nothing with it. when mccourt is on the ball you know it is a matter of time until we score. with mcgeady it is a case of if we score. mcgeady could do with a wee spell on the bench next to brown

I'm 100% british and think he should be starting, he does what the fans want, which is a bit of flair, he strolls past oponents and on Thursday night, had more chances in 5 minutes thn maloney had in his time on the pitch!

Mc court is class .He will Never track back thats were he have to fit him in hes not the only player in the world that does this .ronaldo rarely crosses the halfa way line and many more great players who can prduce magic ,.But will never defend and for mc courts passing he can cut defences open with passes ive seen it so many times. But he needs * people to move for him if Fats and sammy etc just stand there hes not gunna pass the * ball !!!

here is my opinion, mcgeady is not great on the right ,receives the ball to deep and hasnt got the pace to skin defenders thats why he cuts back to beat his man again, his decision making is poor ,would be better on the left or through the middle. maloney is better on the left or through the middle,or poss as second striker, his decision making is better than mcgeadys and is more direct.mcginn is more of a typical winger beats his man gets to the line needs a better delivery,is more direct than mcgeady on the right mccourt is better than maloney and mcgeady at going by players and has a better shot, better through the middle or off striker/s.

They're all flawed in some way.

McCourt doesn't track back and who knows if he can last 90m?
I just don't see anything from McGinn. Some people have said he's a byline-cross winger, but that's not really Mowbrays style and we don't have a big target man like JVoH anymore
McGeady couldn't pick a pass if his life depended on it.
Maloney... great movement... but worst winger wannabe striker ever when it comes to 1v1 situations?

Been waiting for McGeady to mature for about 6 years. Time to give McCourt a go. McGeady has no bite, final ball is dire and has absoloutly no heart. Maloney is no better.

So would these spectacles mean we would rather see Paddy chosen ahead of Aiden(Irish), Niall(Irish) or Shaun Maloney(surely somewhere in the family). Utter nonsense!!!!!:31:

Maloney cant cross and i wouldn't put a penny on him one on one with any keeper.

McGeady cant cross the ball which I'm sure you must see as a problem for someone in his position. Either play him through the middle or bin him, he's too old to change now IMHO.

we have more wide flair player now than we ever have. One of the reasons why I preferred WGS's teams to MON's was proper wide flair players. MON Played Thommo and Agathe as wing backs but they were hardly flair players or winger really. Then when he moved to a 4-4-2 after Seville, Agathe went to RB and we didnt really have much width at all most of the time. I think he played Thommo and Stan wide a bit then but that is not real width and MON teams were a winger lovers nightmare (remember Lubo was normally a sub in his 2 years under MON). So, I simply think we are spoiled for choice in this area and I wouldnt spend any money there. IMO the best all round player is Maloney and McGeady next. McGinn is more basic although a useful sub while McGeady is great but no manager is going to make up a formation to accomodate a player who doent track back so I think he will remain a sub or start easy games only.

While I'm not comparing Paddy to Kaka, I think we could really benefit from playing him in a similar role as others have said...behind the front line. Someone who isn't depended on for tracking back, but with the ball at his feet, you know something can happen..

I'm also looking forward to seeing Fortune return tomorrow, there's alot of emphasis on his return by most people, mainly because we're rank right now and they see him as the saviour, while he's clearly not that...he can and will do a shift for us.

Come on the bhoys, come on Tony, get a good win tomorrow!

McGeady is one of the first players on the teamsheet,McCourt is skillfull but would love to see him last 90 mins first,McGinn is just right as a subs role for now,Maloney still creates chances ,once we have our fullbacks fits and back and all strikers fit we should start making judgements then,Hinkel and Fox are two of our best players and Fortune was just starting to gel with the team,so imo am prepared to wait and see where we are in Feb .
