What do you think about this formation? Do you think that WGS will change formation to bring back Naka to the squad ?

    Boruc

    Wilson - Balde - McManus

    Keane - Lennon

    Nakamura - Petrov - Maloney

    Hartson - Żurawski

    ... looking very good...:50:

Just curious. when playing your 3-5-2, who's providing the width in defence? Without breaking up the back line, that is. Team arrangements for providing width is usually a bit of a headache in 3-5-2 because of the natural big holes in the sideback. I'm not against 3-5-2 as such, but so far there seems to be a certain degree of uncertainty. It tends to come across fudged to me and that can be kind of worrying.

Wilson can't play in a back three.

    If I was playing a 3-5-2 I would play:

    Boruc

    Varga Balde McManus

    Wilson Keane Petrov Naka Maloney

    Magic Beattie

If you look at WGS career, he has always played a flat 4-4-2 formation or sometimes he used a slight variation, he will not use a 3-5-2 formation however.

3-5-2 is a formation i quite like but you really do need wingbacks involved in it, to provide width to the team when both defending and attacking

No way. The wide men in the midfield are suppose to tackle, track back etc everytime. Nakamura doesnt do this and Maloney isn't the greatest at it. They are suppose to protect the back 3 from wide play. The formation doesnt work with the players we currently have.

i think the best solution is 4-4-2 diamond but we have to buy left wing deffender or right if willson will play at left wing (i dont know that guy who will come at the end of the season) we should think about replacement for balde too cause i dont think they rearrange his contract

for me there is no place for both lennon and keane at the same time... especialy if we think about europe... maybe when we're going to deffend...

    so

    ---------------- boruc ----------------

    ???/wilson ???/balde mcmanus ???/wilson

    ------------- lennon/keane ------------
    nakamura----------------------maloney
    ---------------- petrov ---------------

----------zurawski----mcgeady/beattie/miller -> or other combination of this 4

and that is only right solution simple and efficient :):):)
but that means we have to buy additionaly one or two deffenders this summer

BUT FOR THE NEXT GAME IT IS IMPOSSIBLE :)
    so maybe some experimential squad

    ---------------- boruc ----------------

    Telfer --- balde --- mcmanus --- wilson

    nakamura---- lennon---keane ----maloney

    ----------zurawski----petrov---------

Simple solution, drop lennon and we can have a creative team... Why accomodate for him by playing a 3-5-2...

IT IS NOT NAKAS CONTRIBUTION BUT WHOLE TEAM... and if we are talking about names i would prize petrov and magic cause two of three goals have been made by them!!

You say that probably because you see the in-your-face side of the game. It's fairly typical these days that the audience expect an in-your-face performance and derive the value of football purely from that point of view. The consequence is that over a period of time viewers lose perceptiveness in subtlety of tactics and stop appreciating it.

That being said I would choose Lennon over Nakamura. Given the problems Lennon has gone through and seeing how he played the last game it seems he's a player with a mission - a determination to prove something. It'd be criminal not to give him a chance again. That would put Nakamura warming the bench. I'm not yet convinced that 3-5-2 is the solution; nobody has provided a solution to my last post in this thread, probably because there isn't one in our squad.

With Lennon and Keane in 4-4-2, it's unlikely there's a room for Nakamura.
