Yes, you don't choose the team you support. They choose you and you have to stick by them thick or thin.

Without a doubt I will always follow Celtic whole heartedly no matter what the future holds. I also grew up during the hun 9 in a row era and all my mates where rangers fans. I used to get loads of stick for being a Celtic fan and also for going to a catholic school.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

* like that only makes you stronger.

I stuck wi the hoops though (possibly because my old man would have killed me otherwise) and thankfully by the time i was old enough to go to the boozer and really gloat, Celtic became a force. Those same pals are getting it tight these days ha...

Funnily enough when i think of my favorite Celtic players most of them are from that dark era. The likes of peter grant and paul Mcstay, The ones that played for the jersey week in week out. And my favorite Celtic moment is seeing them 2 guys celebrating the 95 Scottish cup win. Brings a tear every time, fantastic.

Winning isn't everything. Being a Celtic fan is worth more than a league title to me. Its all good seeing the players celebrate their achievements on the park and we get to celebrate with them but Celtic is more than that. For instance, this site has brought us together as Celtic fans and no matter what Celtic win we all still have this place and each other, joined together in our love for the hoops.

This goes for when you travel around anywhere and you wear the hoops, I tend to always bump into Celtic fans everywhere I've been. Even got a lift for free, from a stranger, all the way from Liverpool to my front door on the way back from Barca, all because we were Celtic fans. It is like one big family all over the world and you can't turn your back on it because of a lack of success on the field.

If this happens in this day and age and we stop winning things for a prolonged period I reckon the fans will need to team together again and force change. Our size in the league we play in means that we should not be going without success for too long. We pump in enough revenue for the guys in the club to play with and they should be able to bring us success from it in the SPL. If not then we need to get them to * and get folk in who can deliver it.

Why is this a stupid question ?

Have you not read the negative posts on this forum every time the team or the manager slips up. I wonder if the people who do it on a regular basis realy are supporters or glory hunters.

Supporting your team means accepting the wins the losses and the draws, the good times and the bad times and never losing faith in them.
Just like you would support your wife and family.

Ask any poor Caley Thisle or St Johnstone fan why they follow their teams that never win anything.

You should be concentrating more on the football and your knitting than showing admiration for what you can not get. :56::56:

As long as the one title was the 8th or 9th out of the 17 :icon_mrgreen:

in all seriousness i've supported Celtic through the dark days of playing attractive football and winning hee-haw before - and would again 200% :50:

Interesting subject, considering when we won 3 in a row under Strachan, and yet people sill boycotted Parkhead just because they did'nt like the manager and some of his decisions.:shamrock:

i was born in 83 so from the early good memories of McAvennies late double on my bros communian day and joe millers famous goal the year after it quickly changed to hun domination and doing well in europe .Never once did i think of chucking it ,it makes you stronger and hungrier.Have often been told during hun games + european ones that ill end up having a heartattack ,well if i do my heart will be happy that Celtic made it beat the fastest

Why are we not winning the league? Because The huns have been bought over by the man city owners richer brother and have signed kaka messi and Ronaldo or because the celtic board are being tight arsed *? diffrent situations, I'd feel cheated in the latter and lose alot of faith if Celtic.

I wouldn't renew my season ticket tbh. I only have so much money and as it is that could be spent on more important things. Obviously I would still buy the tops, go to big games and support the club in any way I could.

And to be honest, if I have to endure what you did for 18 years in order for us to win the CL and nine-in-a-row, well, it would be more than worth it.
