Oh my *, what happened to some people here?

I am Austrian, but not a supporter of Rapid Vienna, but it is a shame, what I have to read here.

The * time is a long time ago, why do you all call us *? Do we call you and Scottish shepherds, bagpipe idiots or what?

This is a soccer game, the "war" can take place on the pitch for sure, but not outside the stadium and especially not between the supporters!

Up to now I have considered Celtic Glasgow as a sympathic club with nice supporters, but some of you have exceeded all limits of behaviour and rivalry and don´t even show a bit of sense of guilt.

I can understand some people, if they want to call Rapid Vienna as a cheater´s club or Peter Pacult as a person who wants to feast or to jilk, but these are individuals.

As an Austrian I feel completely disappointed by such words and such expressions against my country. I got to know many nice Scottish people, so I would ask you to talk about the game, but not to judge the whole country and to offend the whole Austrian population, as well as our customs and so on.

Thank you very much and I really hope, that the fight will only take place on the pitch!

If you have questions about Vienna, or how to get to the stadium, feel free to ask, provided you don´t offend the whole country.

    Gerhard

Agreed. This hysteria over Rapid Wien borders on obsessive compulsive behaviour.

Of course I can understand every rivalry and I can also understand a bit the feelings of the Celtic fans. This is football, as we love it, football will always consist of emotions and on compulsory shoutings against the opponent.

But on the other hand, football can also be a sport with the unique and great opportunity to travel to other countries and to get to know customs of another country and to get to know other people.

This is the reason, why I logged in here, just to calm the mood here, and not to cause a war between Scotland and Austria. I have to admit, that some people in Austrian soccerboards are now upset and also blood boiling because of some really really offending comments, which were absolutely exaggerating.

To speak about the game. Celtic has great problems playing away, but at home they are really strong. In this group everything is possible. I would consider HSV as the favourite.

I hope the two matches againt Rapid will be hard, but fair matches, without cheatings, without jilks and so on. For example I can watch Mc Geady, a well respected player by my part.

So how many Celtic fans will travel to Vienna approximately?

    Dear Celtic Support,

I'm from Austria and I support Rapid, but I also do like Celtic FC. I do not wannt to provoke, like other "rapid-supporters" did here, but some posts here makes me shocked. I know "being a Rapid supporter" makes me scum, *, cheater, * or whatever in your eyes.
Well I have not seen any video of the "bottle incident" in 1984, because those days I was just one year old and in the web I haven't found anything. So I do not judge, becuase each side pretends to be in right. What I read around the whole forum, about *, bone breaking, punishing makes me really shocked. I think it's stupid to hate others, because of football. In the End it's just a game, no more no less. A bit rivalry is ok, but violence is not. I do respect most of the Celtic Support, but these braindamaged guys, who wants to punish others for actions, which happened before 25 years are in my opinion scum. That's kind of hooliganism, which does not have the right, to call itself support. In life there are more important things, than football.

When I heard that Celtic was in our group I was excited. My girl-friend and I decided to go to Glasgow to support our team and enjoy the incredible atmosphere at Celtic Park and also making sightseeing in Glasgow. But after reading such threats against Rapid, we will not. We are not responsible or guilty for what happened in 1984, when I was just a kid and she wasn't even born. But I think that would not make any difference in the eyes of any violence loving coward.

Violence in football is for people without courage and self-confidence.
So do yourself a favour support your team and forget missplaced hate.
It would just ruin the reputation of Celtic FC, which woould be a shame. Look what happened to Liverpool FC. They took a long way to get back their reputation. You have a great team with a great support (most of them).

You will have no problems in Glasgow mate.

We are a great support, but there is a lot of ill-feeling towards your team but it is only your team, not you personally.

I know that celtic fans have this big reputation, because of their peacefullniss and I honour that.

For I'm not guilty for 1984, I don't need to be forgiven by anyone of you. And as far as it concerns me, I wish that this never happened.

    @craigyjac
    you made my day!!

As far as it concerns us we would nerver offend other fans. But the truth is, that I think that some ill-brained "Rapid-Supporters" may will. Neither we want to get punched for 1984 nor for such guys like "green rapid", who do not know when it's time to shut the mouth.

It is pretty legal to disrespect and dishonour a team :) But it is also very appointing to read * comments from supporters, who prone to be one of the most peaceful of the globe.

But the last comments made me feel much better, as many fans here are against excesses like violence, like bone-breaking, bone-crunching, hunting other people through the streets.

In that sense I truly believe, that the disrespect only is regarded for the team :)

But do younger fans also feel that hate against Rapid Vienna? So especially people who hadn´t been born before that action happened?

First of all I'd like to extend a very warm welcome to all the decent Austrians/Rapid fans who have posted on here in the past few days.
I would never be unfriendly or ignorant to any decent Rapid fans who were over for the game.
However, i will never be able to forgive your manager or the people who ran your club for what happened in 1984.
With the greatest respect in the world to all good Rapid Vienna fans, if there is one club in the world that i could never accept Celtic having a good, friendly relationship with, it's Rapid Vienna.

Its Funny to see Rapid supporters leaving comments in this forum like lil cry babies!!!

Dont you guys tell everybody in Austria that you are the strongest, toughest and best in the Country? Well i got news for yours: i have expirienced the best supporters in the world twice, once a few years back and once again last week in LOndon. The are a great bunch, and you can have a lot of fun with them (just dont make the mistake and try to drink pints at the same speed as they do). But if any of you green jerks (sorry Celtic) think that you can take them on in there own backyard the will make you run (if you are lucky) like your lot did today after our derby. Celtic supporters are known for there support and craig, not like the Blue scum, but dont push em too far.

I think it's even funnier to see Austria Vienna supporters leaving comments on this forum, although they don't even play Celtic. I doubt than any Rapid supporter will write on a Bilbao or Bremen board how * Austria V. are. Talk about being obsessed.
