What does Mowbray want to play?

leon mowbray scared of arsenal!! * kind of post is that? i didnt give a * who we got because i believe we can take out anyone! be positve on things here mate not negative.

 

This was Arsenal we were playing not * St.Mirren, did you not watch what that team did to Everton at the weekend, they were literally ripped to shreds. Wind your neck back in cause we did very well against a top top team. I for one have no fears for the season ahead.

 

You're not aware of the board's lack of ambition. They are very tight, and don't let much money be spent, and they appoint an EPL failure as the manager. I think Mowbray was positively shocked when he was offered the job here. The board have absolutely no European ambition. That's shown by bringing in somebody like TM. I don't know how will he do in the SPL, but he cannot get us anywhere in Europe. Another manager would've fought Arsenal.

HOW MUCH DO WE GET FROM TV RIGHTS, PEANUTS COMPARED TO MOST SIDES. The teams your talking about with european ambition spit money left right and centre. We can't do that or it will be the 90's all over again. Leone think before you post.

 

Mate your speaking rubbish. The peak of your ambition has to be realistic for goodness sake. There are about 10 teams in the World I reckon over 10 games we will win perhaps 2 of them but put up a good fight in all of them. They financially outweigh us many times over so this is to be expected. Arsenal are one of these teams.

Be realistic - we've been in the CL group stages 3 times in 4 years now (I believe). Last 16 twice is a fantastic achievement and last 8 was mere minutes away. I believe this board and BTM can actually accomplish this - maybe not this year but in the next 3 years. The board are planning for the next 3 years yet you have made your conclusion over 3-4 games.

 

We don't need to spend 15M on a player, but I think we're healthy enough to spend 6-7. The board are tight *, and they have appointed a yes man.

 

Anyone else getting the feeling they're wasting their breath here?

 

If you seriously think Celtic can lash out £7million on one player and pay the wages a £7million player would command you seriously have no idea of the situation Celtic are in these days.

leone i dont think i heard as much pish from a celtic fan. You really sound like a numpty from Govan. 99.9% of celtic fans have been very impressed by what weve seen from mowbray, His football is a breath of fresh air compared to what weve been used to in recent years. In 4 months time when were top of the league and dominating the gers at ibrox for ninety mins without giving the ball away, I dont want you on here saying Mowbray the best ever since sliced bread.

 

6-7 million is alot of money to a team that wouldn't be able to recuperate that money. Are financial situation is not what it once was, even back in the MON era we were spending more than we could recuperate despite our prolonged sucess. We have to be realistic and try to accept that we can't afford to be risky with money because we don't have the safety net teams in the EPL have.

 

Wasn't everyone here talking how we had cleared our debt, when WGS was still here, wondering why isn't some money spent on better players?

 

you dont have to spend big money on a player to sucseed? look at nguemo,boruc,broony,larrson etc. we didnt spend huge on these players but they wer or are brilliant. eg? look at when ac milan paid 14 million for lentini or chelsea paid whatever for shevchenko? it never worked out ! its all about finding good players at good affordable prices in your grasp and mould them into a team! liverpool done this in the 80`s going down the lower leagues and finding good players there that turned out to be world class later on in their careers.

 

In case you didn't notice we have already spent £6million this summer.

£7million for Celtic these days has to buy 2,3 or even 4 players. The most expensive players Celtic can realistically be looking at are 4-5 million. And we are pushing the boat out to even buy them. £7million players are a luxury we can't afford anymore. There's been that many threads on this subject that even you must realise that by now.

Look at the money and wages at Spurs, and our reserves beat them ! Man City, and our reserves just lost to them. Look at the money Wenger has spent getting that team together and we lose to two flukey goals. If you can't see the transformation in our football since TM took over, then take off those WGS tinted glasses. Our boys deserve nothing but praise for last night ! Losing to two * goals, to a team that were CL semis last year , and just pumped the FA cup runners up 6-0 at the weekend. Sitting in the stand last night, i can't remember one moment where i felt worried when Arsenal attacked us !

 

leone for the first tiem in a while a celtic team went out in the league and really killed a game in the first half with pace and quick counters aswell as good play fair enough aberdeen were rotten but when strachen was in charge we were to slow to do anything one of the main culprits was naka. He was a good player dont get me wrong but was not a wide midfielder and with maloney and mcgeadys pace along with the two strikers and donattis passing we really destroyed them it could ave been any score at half time and they could not have complained.
Being honest Arsenal are a top 5 club team in the world and have showed they are in good form just now pummeling everton our performances against the lieks of them wont be what i can base my views of mowbery on.

 

I still believe we miss Naka's passing, especially after yesterday. And I agree that we played well the first half. But the second half is what's bothering me.

 

ever heard of david and goliath? well this is similar, except not always david wins in our case ...

by the way, all youve done is talk utter pish in this thread, and hopefully arsenal go on to hammer us 10-0 at emirates, then steamroll to the finals of the champions league, and win the trophy. all without conceeding a single goal.
