Firstly, I want to say the match was great ! There is no shame in losing to a qaulity team like arsenal. However, there are a few players that do not deserve to wear the celtic colours in europe !

Caldwell - He thinks he is some kind of class footballer instead of just being a no nonsense defender. He is now our top OG goal scorer in europe and is a liability. By all means play him in the SPL but that's about as far as he will go.

Donati - all i have to say is this guy does not have a football brain. He cant think under pressure and strugles to be imaginative. His passing is shocking. By all means play him in the SPL but he is no european player.

Brown - Im sorry to say it but i'd take 11 million for him anyday. In my eyes he is nothing special and does little to motivate the team. He is pretty reckless and could cost the team this season with his aggression.

This is just my oppinion. I welcome your thaughts.

    Firstly...

Caldwell is a solid defender who got unlucky.. one bad game and this is what he gets?

Donati, i agree was very very poor today, lost the ball while in possetion too many times. And I'd say he lost just about every 50/50 bll tht cam his way.?

Brown is arguably our best player, stop slating players because of one bad match.

Brown played bad, but so did Arshavin. It means nothing.

Caldwell - came to celtic, thought he was a footballer, had a bad run, slated by fans, went back to basics, got praised by fans, thinks he's a footbaler again. once he goes back to basics he will be the rock at the back like he was last season until then...boruc give the ball straight to the midfield (noticed last season when big mick was in front of him he would do this, heid needs the same treatment)

Donati - sorry cant fault the guy this season so far played well, although i still have that feeling when he's on the ball he'll lose it stupidly espcially when hes under pressure. his usual pin point long pass evaded him tonight, like most players when they realise its not their day, stick to basics (see a pattern here)

Brown - one full game under his belt this season. i would consider his energy a motivation, well it is to me when i play football and someone bursts a gut for 90 minutes. TM will get the best out of him, his basic passing last season was poor, TM could help fix that and he has a masssive help in controling the midfield with n'guemo and his energy and power so theres no need for him to the headless chicken routine which i think will make him a better player as he wont burn himself out early on so making runs late in the game wont bea problem, remember last season he ran out of gas by the end of the game

Why Did Paddy McCourt Come On In A Champions League Qualifier When You Are 2-0 Down , He Was Tired By The Time He Ran To His Postion , I Dont Know What Other People See In Him He Is Terrible Rather Have Mizuno On Than Him

Firstly im not slating players on tonights game ..

Caldwell as i mentioned has now scored 3 own goals in europe .. im sorry but that is shameful.

Donatio - What do you see in him ? in europe he cant hack it. In the spl he does his job.

Brown - He's average ! i dont get the hype .. He has a lot of aggression and it could cost us in the long run.

Caldwell does my nut. How many times is he going to hit it straight through to the opposition goalie? He's forever hitting hopeless long balls usually to McDonald who is (a) too small for headers and (b) has a * 1st touch to feet. Then when 1 out of 100 comes off he uses it to think he's some sort of 'footballing centre-half.' If he hits a pass over 10 yards I'd sub him.

As far as the Paddy McCourt substitution, I think it was a good move. At that stage of the game, you're rolling the dice, and McCourt is one of the few players in our squad (despite his lack of experience) whose shown an ability to A.) create something and B.) control the ball in very tight spaces. There was very little of A or B going on today by anyone wearing the Hoops, McGeady being a major exception.

    Good post.

We were beat by two lucky goals, and Mc Court was the best chance we had to pull something out of nothing.

Arsenal are an amazingly good side and will make the semi-finals at least.

Accept that we were 2nd best even at home.

Okay away to bed................have to get up in 3 hours to get my lift back home. :celt_2:

Ach well - we competed well i thought but they are a strong side. We kept their front line pretty quiet all night which is a good achievement. We just didnt have enough up front. Once they went ahead they controlled the game a lot more. Donati didnt have the best game but they were closing down our guys at some speed. Some of the passes that were being fed into our midfielders put them immediately under pressure.

I was quite impressed with how we pressed them and how we competed. I'm enjoying the football a lot more this season so far so lets not get too down. :50::50:

Firstly I want to say that if it wasn't for TWO deflections the score would have been 0-0 tonight.

Caldwell - Yes he is a bit accident prone. If any of our defenders is going to stick a leg out and the ball is going to end up in our net it seems to be him! But to be fair he was one of our two best players last season so give the guy a break.

Donati - Mowbray is probably just playing Donati to get his transfer value up so we can get some money for him when we sell him. And we will sell him. He wasn't the worst player on ther park tonight either.

Brown - Lay off Scott Brown. He's not even match fit yet and was our best player last season. If we get offered £11millon for him then yes we'll take it but give the guy a * break. He's a good player.

It's oh so easy to rip our team to pieces after a disappointment. My only criticism tonight is we never created anything. I can take being beat by Arsenal. Arsenal are a better team than us. Still think we should be capable of creating chances against them though...especially at home. But you're doing a total hatchet job on our team....CHILL OUT!!!

    Agreed 100%

110% in Caldwells case. I can see nothing in him at all.

    As good as McManus..Oh FFS:38:

Caldwell is a good player just bad luck.
Brown is barely fit yet but he is double POTY.

I do agree re: Donati. BTM is showing a lack of knowledge of his players IMO when slecting Donati. Donati looks good on the surface but he just flatters to decieve. he sprays the ball about OK but is otherwise a guttless limited player.

Caldwell is having a nightmare because he's the new captain!!! too much pressure, just like big Mick.... i'd make McDonald captain!!! he's forever moaning and won't give anyone a minutes peace
