He is definately a striker and he just needs a goal to get going but i mean lets not get too hung up on w/e his scoring rate was in the past because a lot of that can be down to formations etc and tm did say its not just about his goals but he ill bring a lot to the team so lets try and be patient with the guy and we can see how he goes

His movement allowed McGeady space to score in the 6 yard box, something i have never seen.

And i expect that it will make Brown and Maloney score more as well from the space created by Fortune.

If you can't see how useful Fortune is then you don't really know football.

    Skippy is our poacher/goalscorer.

Remember how when Skippy and Sammy played together and the ball went to one of the strikers and they immediately did not know what the * to do with it: Hold, Run, pass, etc... Fortune solves the problem. He plays with the ball, draws in defenders and dishes it out to someone that will to find the holes he creates.

excellant and couldnt agree more, I think hes a whole handling for defenders. Big strong powerful pacey and brings all midfielders into the game. Every game that fortune has come off in We find it harder to create space in the oppenents box to score, i like him and impressed, only needsa goal to boost his confidence :50:

Everyone needs to get off the guy's back and give him time ffs, let him get settled in the team and the city, by December if he still has not found the net, fire away.

If anything the way McDonald and Fortune are playing just now, i would drop McDonald and try Samaras and Fortune up front. Fortune is doing exactly what Mowbray brought him in to do - create space for the players around him and assisting the main striker. McDonald isn't doing what he's suppose to be doing and that's being a prolific goal scorer, he's missing to many chances just now.

hmmm id like to see fortune play deeper against arsenal. Maybe him out on the right with mcgeady coming infield to the centre. Macdonald has to really tidy his overall game up. Hes scored 2 important goals for us already this season but in both games I felt he could contribute a lot more. Was a bit disappointed with some of the whinging he was directing at fortune for not taking a couple of opportunities. Especially when he was guilty of equally wasting chances. Fortune needs confidence and macdonald has to help his teammates and stop being selfish.

Exactly. Useful for running at the defense, distracting them, so that the real threats stay unmarked. Also, he passes when the chance arises for others. He's not getting much fame, but his job is important.
