Not one single player should be an automatic starter because of who they are, every position should be up for grabs for whichever player is on form.

Donati has been asked to do a job by Mowbray and he has done it, looking composed on the ball, good vision and hasn't done anything wrong to deserve being dropped, Brown hasn't looked as composed when he has come on so far.

As for the question in the OP, two different players so all three players will be used depending on their form and the type of game we are facing.

mowbray said on the radio after yesterdays game when asked if brown would be replacing donati when 100 % fit," he will have to earn his place, i wont drop donati unless his form drops. he has been the best player here since i arrived."

Mowbray will start Fortune and he'd be daft not to go with Skippy. So I can't see that happening, except when Fortune gets subbed.

On Donati vs. Brown -- Browns done the job asked of him everytime as well. For me it's Brown no doubt. This is a game that fits Brown perfectly and is the exact opposite of what fits Donati. If Donati plays I forsee Fabregas being able to pull the strings in midfield.

You know, I like the idea of Brown up front behind the striker against Arsenal !!

Aye, to be honest I'd say Brown is pretty overrated, however saying "should N'Guemo play instead of Brown" is kinda like suggesting we play Loovens up front instead of McDonald...totally different player.

I think i agree with you mate. :50:

I give Donati a few more games till he's back to his usual self and is dropped again. Brown and N'Guemo in the middle for me.

Give Donati his due he played well against Aberdeen but i wouldn't play him before Brown and N'Guemo.

No. If you read statements by N'Guemo, you'll see that he actually prefers playing a more forward going role, but is willing to play wherever his manager feels he needs him most. So, in the type of role that each would both have a preference to play, they are both attack minded midfielders. Nothing like the Central defence/Centre forward contrast suggested above.

There is one obvious difference in their game though, one can pass the ball, the other cant.

    Fair enough, never new that.

From what I've seen from N'Guemo and his goal scoring record he looks much more like a CM/DM player than attack mid, but I'd imagine he knows more about it than me.

An attacking midfielder with a bit of a shot is something we've missed for a longtime. Don't really see Brown or N'Guemo being that kind of player which is what I like to see in an attack mid player.

To be fair, I think it's quite possible for players to see themselves as better in one position/role on the pitch (more often than not an attacking position), whereas a coach will identify certain attributes and see them as far more suitable in another.

With regards to tonights game, and football in general, form over reputation every time.

My thoughts exactly!! I think brown & n'guemo can certaintky play in the same team, i rate them both & donati has hit a bit of form, so its a good predicament to be in.

I expect couple of corpses if N'Guemo and Broony join forces as two defensive midfielders, but that's unlikely to happen. I can see Brown playing as AMC.

I think last season with robson out broony was asked to fill that gap, but there is so much more to his game & we'll see that hopefully this season.

I'd have to say donati and n'guemo have to startevery match going by current form. Brown last season was easily one of our best players but as people before me have said, its all down to current form and and the moment donati and n'guemo both look far too good to be left out. Brown's just gonna have to wait until one of them gets injured/becomes *.

    I disagree.

I think Donati is far more suited to European games than to SPL games. Broon's hash-&-bash style is much more SPL...

Anyway, I expect to see them both playing, 5-man midfield.

Broony has to be in the team tonight because of his energy and he will be right up for it against one of the best midfielders in the world like faberagas. He will also play donati and nguemo tonight.
