McGeady, no contest. McCourt hasn't done anything yet.

Once I see McCourt ripping the * out of AC Milans defence then I might change my mind.

Come on here. I can't help but get the impression that some people are determined to get Aiden McGeady out the team. * sake. Aiden was very good, like the rest of the team in midweek against Dinamo Moscow. Paddy McCourt is a good player, of that i have no doubt but Aiden McGeady is the player that our opposition most fear - he is a stick on for me and yes he has a couple of things to work on but remember he is STILL ONLY 23 YEARS OLD!!!!!

The Mizuno v McGeady poll was ridiculous. This one less so but Aiden McGeady is, and will continue to be one of our most effective players. Get off his back!
I am glad however that we have Paddy McCourt waiting in the wings, he too can be a valuable player for us this season.

    Is this thread serious?

    McCourt has nothing on McGeady.

i dont understand why mcgeady is such a cert to start. he came on yesterday and his only contribution was giving the ball away a couple of times. I really feel passionate about getting shot of him whilst his reputation is favourable. We could get 3-4m for him at this point and the money could be invested on getting a new naka type player. Agreed that mccourt hasnt quite proved himself enough to warrant a place over mcgeady. But based on mcgeadys performances his place in the team is by no means untouchable. Ill be really interested to see how mcgeady copes in the next 4-5 games, inparticularly the arsenal game. Dont get me wrong I used to be a massive mcgeady fan, just as I am with whoever is the in form player. He has become a one dimensional player with a one dimensional frame of mind and a lack of willingness to change/improve his game. Time will tell, and we all hope mcgeady becomes the player he ought to be. Report card so far - must do better.

McGeady at the moment but Paddy McCourt could be a shout soon aswell, Paddy could also play behind the strikers which is another good option to have

People just love to slate McGeady don't they?

One of them has done the odd thing in the Irish league, the reserves and pre-season games.

The other has done it in the Champions League, International games etc.

Im not asking who has done more in football or who is the more skilled player im simply asking who has the better technique when taking on several players. Its your preference on which style you prefer. Please will people stop trying to turn this thread into a McGeady vs Mizuno type thread.

I appreciate that mate, not meaning to have a go.

But the lad is one of our most talented players, and a few bad games and he is being slated and now he should be dropped for Mizuno, McCourt, the tea lady...

    It's getting silly

i understand that but i wasn't even thinking about McGeady being dropped when i thought up the question. It was just after seeing McCourt glide trough players on pre-season and thinking to myself who has the better running style ie better technique. I myself thought i was a good question as they both have such different styles. I in noway intended to take a dig at McGeady, or wanted another McGeady vs Mizuno thread as laughed when i saw that thread.

Which undelines my point in the Mizuno debate - the clock is ticking for that *.

I agree that most good players are playing football at 23 or even younger. All i'm saying that McGeady has still to mature a bit. He's a daft * at times but i think he'll grow out of it.

The question is about who has a better technique when taking on players.

Easily McCourt. The games against Spurs and Man City showed has ability in this area.

Who would I play at the moment, McGeady. Hes more consistant.

As has been said before, if either of them (or both :eek1:) could get thier final ball/shooting spot on they be immense

Nobody is saying that, stop over-reacting.
There was 1 person who wanted Mizuno over McGeady in that thread.
This poll is about who is better at wasting time dribbling around players -- not even about who should be playing.

Take a deep breath, take a step back, and see things for what they are.
McGeady has a lot to improve, but I don't think anyone wants him out of the team.

    Take a deep breath?

Was there any swear words there? Any exclamation points or silly smilies? I don't think so.

I'm quite calm but thanks for the concern.

I`ve only seen McCourt a couple of times. Most recent was the Sunderland game and he was awful. Took 40 odd minutes before I noticed he was on the park. So in all honesty I don`t even know if he`s any good at all.

Was wondering where the idea for this thread came from until I saw all the comments about the Man City game. I didn`t see it, I take it he was good? Anyone know if there are highlights or that online?
